Kojima countdown site reveals 'MASK'

The weather's getting weirder on the Kojima Productions "NEXT" teaser site. Not only have glimpses of more letters and what appears to be Raiden begun to materialize as the 90 hour mark approaches, but clicking on the studio's eerily morphing logo now takes visitors to an age-gated site for "MASK."

Fittingly, a mask appears, slowly revealing a ghastly female face. The accompanying music only serves to make the whole thing creepier. It would seem this is yet another new project, wholly separate from what the studio is doing on the Metal Gear front, but anything goes at this point. Now we have two enigmatic sites to watch and wonder over. Hopefully all is revealed at E3 ... and we haven't been driven absolutely mad by then.

We've included an image of maybe-Raiden after the break. What's your take on all of this?

Mask may be ZOE 3 will the first site is a new MGS game. Whats weird is that I noticed, 360 among the numbers that flash. The others were E,5/S, and that supposed snake symbol.

Ya, It's most likely going to be metal gear solid 4 "subsistence"... I mean they did it for metal gear 2 and 3 right? It should be about the time to port it over with extra stuff like usual... can't wait to see old snake skateboard! Or better yet maybe this one he will have a snowboard mode in the snowfields with some gecko's xD Finally the 360 will have a multi disk game that isn't a JRPG lol

my theory: it's Sunny. That's her hair color, that's her eye color. As for the eyepatch... that looks an awful lot like Solid/Old Snake's headband, doesn't it?

Corspe being Grey Fox? 3 6 might be Rat Patrol...having 3 letters followed by 6. I think it might be leaning towards Lil'John.

That's just what I've gotten out of it. Or maybe I'm going insane.

another poster on another site thinks it could be Olga. From MGS2. She got shot in the head apparently. Also has white hair and was one of those cyborg ninjas.

Who knows tho. Another person said it could be Raiden's son whom was shown at the end of MGS4 (he was a kid at that time).

I'd assume it is Raiden too if it weren't for a few things. The eye color. The fact that Raiden was no longer a cyborg ninja guy at the end of MGS4. The eyepatch...what's that about? And the fact that everyone hated Raiden in MGS2. Tho people liked him more in MGS4 I still disliked him a bit for the simple fact that he didn't die. He survived way too much ridiculous stuff to not die.

Raiden/olga person also has eyeliner on. Now, I know Raiden was girly, but maybe it IS a girl and not raiden.

No kidding. After about the 5th time where the game played the sad dramatic "death" music as he lost consciousness I just kind of rolled my eyes. The guy gets a 20 minute death scene every time he passes out for a couple minutes.

In response to your question regarding RaidenSunnyGrayFox's forehead, it appears to be carrying a barcode.

The following is speculation:

a) barcodes are used for identification
b) this character sports a barcode, thus displaying a need for identification
c) looking at this person is not enough for proper identification
d) this person could very well be a clone
e) clone of Raiden? Gray Fox? Could be either, as a clone could have genetic defects, which could change the eye color.

Therefore I say we have a new MGS game involving a Raiden clone (of which there are many, thus necessitating the barcode) traveling back in time to interact in some way with Big Boss. I think time travel is a possibility, and in looking for some kind of rational for that, I point to the interference that occurs on both the picture of Raidenclone and Big Boss. Almost as if the pictures are being transmitted THROUGH TIME!!!!!!!! Also, somebody will wear an ornate mask for some (probably no good) reason. And Sunny is the one who births the clones, thereby explaining the sun which will be coming out in approx 90 hours. And there will be bombs involved (you can see them falling from the sky in some of the lightning flashes).

Damn it's fun to ramble.

Well, obviously the next Metal Gear will be about fighting creepy humanoid ghosts. It's the natural progression for a series starring clone triplets, cyborg ninjas, and walking tanks that moo and bleed at the legs.

One more theory is it could be Raiden's son...I forgot his name...but yeah possibly him. Where Raiden is killed (by who?) and his son is taken away and raised to be a child soldier like Raiden.

One other thing to add to that is the fact that Raiden was most definitely not missing his bottom jaw. It was definitely dark colored, but he did have a bottom lip, whereas in that picture the whole bottom jaw seems to have been replaced with a mechanical one, as can be seen by the exposed teeth. Also, the eyelashes are way to feminine, even for Raiden.
