TV's The Biggest Loser coming to Wii and DS this fall
Players will be able to "compete in 4, 8 or 12 week programs against former contestants from the television show," and the game even allows players to "receive credit for any progress made while not playing the video game, such as going for a walk or a bike ride." The choice of the honor system here leaves the door open for all manner of dubious exercising. Can you "beat" the game without shedding a pound? Now there's a challenge.
The two different versions will interact with each other, allowing DS players to take their trainers from the Wii game with them to the grocery store to count calories and choose sensible meals. The Wii version of the game also supports the Balance Board, which is pretty much a requirement of any fitness game on the Wii, and will allow players to perform weigh-ins at regular intervals, and choose from a variety of different exercise options.
You can see if you're The Biggest Loser when the game releases this fall.

I guess that contract Majesco inked Jillian Michaels to had a few loopholes in it?
uncle jesse @ May 28th 2009 11:43AM
Alison Sweeney was just out promoting EA Active... oops?
Sidebuster @ May 28th 2009 11:44AM
The balance board would need to support at least 450lbs for a game like this. I don't think people wanting to be on the biggest loser weigh like 180lb (depending on height and build of course). So what would be the use of this if you have too much love'n for a balance board? Definately not the biggest loser; more like the somewhat overwieght by like 3 pounds loser.
Feba @ May 29th 2009 5:01AM
Balance Board supports either 300 or 330 lbs, can't remember which.
apparently still not large enough for those on the show, but still plenty for most overweight persons.
Captain Planet @ May 28th 2009 11:44AM
It's only fitting that this 'game' is coming out on the Wii.
:chuckles:
tmacairjordan87 @ May 28th 2009 12:11PM
Hey now...I don't recall calling for captain planet to do my job for me!

Cute.
dark_inchworm (on Steam!) dark inchworm (on XBL!) @ May 28th 2009 4:39PM
I didn't actually mean to call you out for trolling, it just seemed to fit well.
Ryan Hamilton @ May 28th 2009 12:09PM
Yeah every contestant that starts out on the biggest loser, weighs over the limit for a balance board. So how are you supposed to use the balance board?
MLS @ May 28th 2009 12:11PM
As I work on a project I see the little RSS feed in my bookmarks update and the (1) next to joystiq. Since I am responsible, I keep working on what needs to be done, but I see that (1) and wonder what it could be. We're so close to E3 and any big story could leak at any moment. Could this be MGS4 on 360? An official slim PS3??
I finally finish after 20 minutes of anxiety, and click.

Hey, stop that. They already have enough bad ideas.

Manly Mcbeefington (Mr. ESC) @ May 28th 2009 12:29PM
Has anyone lose weight using the Wii?
MaRRODkez @ May 28th 2009 12:34PM
Samfish said he lost like 30 lbs or something. Gotta give credit to the individuals who put the effort together to lose weight / get in shape.
Manly Mcbeefington (Mr. ESC) @ May 28th 2009 2:12PM
Well my arms are killing me after playing Punch out for a while but I ignore if I'm making any exercise.
MaRRODkez @ May 28th 2009 12:30PM
Former roommate's close friend went on the show. Apparently before filming starts everybody is sequestered at a hotel for a few weeks and stuffed with all the room service they could ever desire.
Magicman @ May 28th 2009 1:58PM
Just remember to hide it when your friends come over. You don't want them to know your the biggest loser.
