Batman: Arkham Asylum committed to retail Aug. 25 in NA, Aug. 28 in Europe

The Dark Knight is finally ready examine the bats in Arkham Asylum's belfry on August 25 in North America and August 28 in Europa. The game had previously been delayed to "late summer" from its June 23 release date, so the wait doesn't appear to be much longer, but it's already felt like a Ra's al Ghul lifetime.

Remember that if you're not looking to play so seriously, that the Joker will be an "exclusive" character in the PS3 version of the game. Batman: Arkham Asylum will be playable at E3 next week and we'll be sure to give our updated hands-on impressions of the game that might actually do Batman justice.

Anyways regardless of whether it's true or not the game is not some GOTY contender so I highly doubt 360 owners give a damn whether the ps3 has this exclusive DLC or not....

Especially considering all the worthwhile games that we get exclusive DLC for. Such as Fallout 3 and GTAIV. And yes while Fallout 3's was a limited time bargain it still sealed the deal on which version was the best to get at launch. By the time that DLC comes out for the ps3 it will old news....

Who's to say you have to pay for the DLC? Some companies do release FREE DLC.

More important is that 360 owners have the OPTION of playing the Joker DLC if they so choose....Joystiq neglected to mention that (which doesn't surprise me in the least).

So no i'm not trolling or butthurt. just pointing out the facts and the truth behind the bs in the article.

Sad that the game is delayed though. it's gotten more interesting since it first was announced.

Who takes Twitter serious for news anyways? All Twitter is, is a Facebook newsfeed on just statuses or quick sentences. I could have sworn Twitter had been out for years but had peaked in popularity because Oprah, in her infinite powers for attracting housewives to pointless crap, used it?

I dunno, I think a more "credible" source would have to be Gamestop which advertises that a pre-order bonus for Batman for all platforms is a villians challenge map, but I take that kinda news with a grain of salt knowing how their employee's tend to confuse crap up.

Lol and we all know what corp bs is spewed out daily from these various companies when it comes to exclusives, new/hidden games in development, delays, etc., etc....

Bottom line is that this game isn't that big for the DLC to be "exclusive"

But if it truly does remain exclusive then oh well. it's a boon for the ps3 but not a significant one when stacked up against the likes of the games I mentioned earlier.

Well, I played the demo. It was really fun. A little sad that the combat is limited to just the square button, but its fun anyway. I like how Batman actually gets damaged, like his mask gets sliced if you get cut in the face. Pretty hardcore stuff, but as I said, really fun.

I want to be a fan of this game.

I sincerely believe that it will be a contender for not only one of the best Batman games ever made ((not exactly something hard to accomplish)), but also an excellent example of how to do a superhero game.

But for whatever reason, I just can't see myself getting into Arkham Asylum. Between the gameplay and graphics, I see something that without a DOUBT looks fun, but oddly enough just doesn't strike me as my cup of tea.

-Sigh- And how I so love comics...

Oh well. Hope this game kicks ass, just the same.

Was he banned for that particular comment? Because I read it earlier and it was actually help; he only recommended I try out the demo and had pleasant things to say about his expereince.

Is that an actual screen shot? It looks like it has some sort of nifty 'film-grain' post-processing filter. Or was this just touched up for the press?

As much as I LOVE the new Bat films and their dark and gritty look and feel, seeing as how they got the actors from the animated series, I can't help but think of how much sweeter it would have been to see this in the same animated style. That would blow my mind.

Either way, I'm dying for this game!

Meh. I played the demo. Not bad. Decent graphics, fluid movements, cool moves.. I'm not a huge fan of the character designs, But it still felt like a basic brawler to me and I imagine that I'd get pretty bored pretty quickly if the whole game is confined to Arkham. Felt like a really slick, dungeon crawling brawler.... I had more fun with what I've played of Wolverine.
