First footage of DJ Hero revealed, revealing

Good news! GameTrailers just saved us a trip to LA by going ahead and having its own E3 tonight. Case in point: here's the first footage of DJ Hero, which reveals a much more ... seemingly strip-club-oriented game than we expected. Maybe it's just for the purposes of this trailer, but is every DJ avatar going to be a scantily-clad woman (or DJ Shadow)? Will go-go dancers figure significantly into the gameplay?

The trailer also features one of the game's vaunted mashups, a pastiche of Gwen Stefani's "Hollaback Girl" with Rick James's "Give It to Me Baby." It's ... the least annoying that "Hollaback Girl" has ever been, we'll say that much. The trailer is after the break.

Gwen's song forever tainted this game in my mind. There is no artist I hate more on earth, and this song makes me which i were deaf. Plus, SCRATCHING??? Does anybody really care about this?

I wished they actually used some music where, you know, turntables were actually the MOST necessary? Like some house music... Then I'd be a little persuaded.

Haha yeah I guess so, some take it more seriously than others. And yeah, if you have any other ideas or tips on how to start DJing and all then let loose and say as I basically have no idea whatsoever. No experience in that field.

I know what you mean by that, and I have no beef if it just takes Guitar Hero to gather some inspiration. It's just the little kids who don't take guitar seriously and believe that Paramore or some other insignificant pop-rock band are the best band in existence just get on my nerves. Btw, the Family Guy scene, funny shit. True that.

I too wish there were more electronic music, though I suspect that any included will be poppy-clubby eurotrance crap.

I also hope for real hip-hop (tribe called quest, nas, talib kweli, common, beasties, etc), but expect that it will end up being crap like Soulja Boy or somebody with "Lil" in their name.
