There's no real point in this collection. I mean, Ultimate Genesis Collection has been around for some months now and it's like, 30 bucks. For 49 games.

Gunstar Heroes isn't in the collection, but yeah, unless you're terribly attached to achievements and leaderboards, these aren't worth buying separately.

Would it really be so hard to rework these games so they supported16:9 aspect ratio? Very disappointing to see these games stuck in 4:3....really turns me off from getting these classics.

Your request makes no sense.

How do you intend the game widen the screen?

Many of these games had enemies SPAWN from the screen edges. GH would be an example.

In a game like Sonic, the ability to see farther would drastically reduce the game's difficulty.

In many games, THERE IS NOTHING OFF THE SCREEN to render. The width is the exact width of what is in the game.

In summary, get over it, because it is not technically feasible without either ruining the aspect ratio or exposing huge empty swaths of NOTHING on each side of the screen.

You're not entirely familiar with how these old 2D games work, are you?

What do you mean not possible?wasn't there an option for 16:9 for Sonic's Ultimate Collection and the games looked perfect stretched out to ws so what is it that is impossible about it.

I hope that very few people buy these. If you buy one Sonic game, why not get them all on the collection(of course, no lock-on because they are lazy). If you buy Phantasy Star II, why not get all 4 by getting the collection. Like I've said before, the only reason that GSH is the only one that is going to be on the PSN, is beacause it is the only one not on the Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection disc.

There can NEVER be enough ways to play Gunstar Heroes. For me, that game was the pinnacle of gaming on the Genesis.

Actually, now that I think about it, they need to do an HD version of Gunstar Super Heroes, too. That's one that hasn't gotten nearly the attention it deserves.

I'm crossing my fingers that this leads to a downloadable sequel ala Megaman 9.

Why would something that SEGA releases prompt a Capcom release? I mean, I certainly wouldn't mind some sort of MegaMan Anniversary Collection a la the Gamecube, but your statement confuses me.

He wants a new/old sequel to Gunstar Heroes, just like Mega Man 9 is a new/old sequel.

I'm crossing my fingers that TREASURE/SEGA start working on a sequel to Gunstar Heroes in the same vein as Megaman 9, and distributed digitally. I'm struggling to find a better way to phrase that, but ultimately grasping at straws. It's lonely in my tower of indecipherable speech.

Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection has a fatal flaw. No Sonic 3 + S&K linkage.

It was too hard to include that ROM.

And Sega's definition of "HD" is to stretch across the screen and us a pixel emulation smasher.

It couldn't be that hard to include Sonic 3 & Knuckles. It was in the last gen Sonic Collection as an unlockable game. Sega was just looking at a way to make more money. Why else would they keep including lame games like Flicky or Bonanza Bros. and not Gunstar Heroes?
