You may remember that Harry Potter and a second Indiana Jones game were confirmed to be getting the LEGO treatment back in March. LucasArts and Traveler's Tales are finally talking about one of those titles, confirming LEGO Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues coming to PC, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, DS and PSP this fall.
Though the name is different than the last time we heard about it, the new Indy will still apparently cover the latest film in the series. We can't wait to see if a LEGO fridge can stand up to a nuclear explosion.

Is it just me ... or does seeing your childhood heroes and your childhood toys brought together like this just make you feel *old*

If only Lego: Transformers was made.
Or Lego: Justice League, then come back to me.
I'd also would take Lego: Teen Titans.

The source article says that this is "a tongue-in-cheek take on all four cinematic adventures of pop culture's most iconic archaeologist"... So I guess it already IS Lego Indiana Jones: The Complete Saga?

I like the LEGO games but am also a little tired of them. I played Indiana Jones, and liked it, and also I'm the one guy who liked Crystal Skull, but still don't think I'll be playing this. I skipped LEGO Batman, and I love Batman comics. I might be ready to jump back into the LEGO series when Harry Potter comes out, especially if it covers every book.

Actually you messed up. Lego Batman was the one to play if any. Especially if you're a fan. You weren't always switching between characters and such during each mission. And the ability to play as the villains really changed things up nicely. Now Lego Rock Band.....why the hell do we need that?

I disagree, Lego Batman is the one you should avoid..
It was very lazily made and it shows. The levels are shorter than they were in Indiana Jones and there's less of them (only 5 per chapter) and many of them are very badly designed, especially the vehicle missions which are practically broken.
Why can you unlock and use different vehicles if you need to have certain ones to actually complete them? That made no sense. Unlike with Indy, you could tell that this was a port of Star Wars that was reskinned with a few Batman elements.

This is so gonna suck!
And by suck, I mean it will be so much fun I'll probably just get it because of it's cute factor alone. And my intense passion of Lego. Damn childhood!

This is in reply to Snowblind above, i didn't want dantebk to get bombarded with unrelated replies.
Lego Batman was better than Lego Indy. I played them all, and i liked the vehicle missions in Lego Batman enough. Also, what do you mean by "Why can you unlock and use different vehicles if you need to have certain ones to actually complete them?"? You mean unlocking the different vehicles via the character store and the story modes? You need to use those vehicles to get all the mini-kits... I'm not sure what you meant by "actually complete them".
The level lengths seem about the same to me between all the games... which is 20 min on your first run through when you're still figuring out where to go, and about 30 min on each when you come back with extra characters to get everything. And although there are less levels per chapter in Lego Batman, there were 6 chapters if you count the Villain levels (which you should), instead of the 3 chapters in Lego Indy.
And really, you just can't compare the awesome abilities of the different characters in Lego Batman to the ho-hum weapon abilities in Lego Indy.
The only downside of Lego Batman, for me, was the character creator, which was severely lacking, even Lego Indy had more stuff.
Of course, the best one is still the Lego Batman series. Nothing beats using the force!

Well, yes, you needed the different vehicles to unlock certain doors, but in Lego Star Wars you could unlock the X-wing, Mellinium Falcon, Arc Fighters, and practically every other ship from the Star Wars movies, and then go back and play through the levels using them. In Batman, that didn't work because you needed certain vehicles for certain situations. So although you could unlock things like Scarecrows biplane, you couldn't actually use it for anything.. It wasn't very well thought out.
I'd also disagree about the powers, although the item switching in Indy wasn't that great, I felt each of the different classes had pretty fun and unique abilties.. Archaelogists being able to read old text and open doors, or being able to dig with the shovel, etc. The different suits Batman and Robin got were pretty lame.. and most of them were only used once or twice.
The villians were a lot more interesting, but even they had problems. The second player would constantly have to play as the same character, for example. I didn't think it was a *bad* game, but it definitely had a lot less effort put into it than the other two.

Ok, wait, sorry but it sounds like you didn't play the games that thoroughly. In Lego Star Wars, those vehicles are only available for Free Play mode, for Story mode you had to stick to the Millennium Falcon or the whatever they gave you, this was the same in Lego Batman. The Scarecrows biplane actually had use in the Free Play as you need it to access certain areas for mini-kits.
For the powers: I'll see your reading old text and digging with shovel and raise you mind controlling NPCs and gliding =). I guess better powers is a matter of opinion. However, I have to say that each suit for Batman and Robin was used MANY times throughout. The attract suit for Robin/Nightwing was probably used in every on-foot level for something, and if you didn't have the Penguin or Man-bat you were pretty much gliding everywhere with Batman/Batgirl.
Also, I enjoyed the combat a great deal more since each significant Hero/Villain had their own special attack. Although most of them it was just a grapple, each was unique and fun to watch, Bane was especially great when he throws the enemy completely straight up off screen! The only downside was that the grapple for each person only works on their side of the story, as in the Heroes can only grapple on Hero levels, and Villains can only grapple on Villain levels. However, other side attacks, such as Poison Ivy's kiss and Joker's electric shock worked on both sides.
There are obviously areas that could've used more effort, but that's pretty much the same with all of them. Lego Indy and Star Wars used way too many new outfits to booster their character list. And in Lego Indy, the combat could've used more variety.
My biggest problem with all of them, of course, are the friggin' breakable items at the edge that just resulted in studs dropping off the edge and giving you no way to recover them. I realize most of them are just the $10 silver studs, but I want them all dammit!

I'm surprised this hasn't turned into one of those "They should make LEGO [insert name of favourite movie]" threads. I hate it when that happens.
Having said that, I'd love to see LEGO Pirates of the caribbean, LEGO The Goonies or even LEGO The seventh Seal. Maybe only two of those are good ideas, but it doesn't matter as none of them will ever be made.
Oh, and I think that LEGO Indiana Jones 2 will be great, whether it only covers one movie or not. Why people insist it must be a trilogy of movies all the time is beyond me. One movie in greater detail and more chapters is just as good.

LEGO Back to the future (All the movies obviously. This would be awesome and have such great gameplay diversity - flying cars! Horseriding!)
LEGO Fast and the furious (All the movies, could get a bit samey though)
LEGO Bond movies! (Imagine the cash cow that could be! They'd never get the license though...)

So it's just covering the one movie? I think that the only way they can get away with this is if they put in a whole bunch of original content too or something.

Indeed.
Although I could be a disk with all of the old stuff along with the new stuff kind of like the Complete Saga thing they did with Star Wars, but the subtitle "The Adventure Continues" doesn't seem like it lends itself to that very well to me.

I say it every time one of these games gets announced, I'll say it again: Anyone else annoyed that these games lack everything that makes Lego fun? The entire point of Lego is building and creativity, and these games are just "Licensed characters turned into minifigs run through Gauntlet levels." They've even stopped making the levels out of Lego and just use generic platformer levels now.
It's really sad the only game I've played that's remotely close to what a Lego game is Banjo Kazooie:Nuts & Bolts.
