It's not an expansion, it's just a small content bonus that comes with the patch. WoW does this all the time as well.

Turbine won The Escapist's March Madness through the might of LotRO fans alone. A lot of people are keeping up with this game, it is by no means a sleeper of any sort.

JeffGoldwarf is also correct -- Turbine relases a new 'Book' about every three months. It'll included the next chapter in the storyline, the quests accordingly, as well as some new instances or zones to explore -- in this case, a new raid -- and maybe new items or events. So on and so forth.

Why the condescending tone?

Hey Joystiq, just report the news. Leave your ill inform opinions at the door.

Agreed, it is sad how this post is worded. LOTRO is a great game...

Massively follows LotRO quite a bit, so there probably isn't much reason for Joystiq to do so. No need for the hate though.

This game seems like a really great game. I've never actually played it, but no need for the hatred Joystiq. It's a recreation of a Tolkien universe so likelihood is it's had the highest level of scrutiny put against it in the design phase so it'll be good, and seems to have quite a few fans still.

This game is pretty much the reason I keep up on my computer tech. Love it. Glad to see more content keep coming.

Too bad some people are blinded by their WOW goggles (Justin). Going back and forth between the two WOW doesn't even seem fun anymore. WOW just isn't a very deep game. But I guess some people like that.

I've been playing LotRO for over a year now. Our largest server "The Big E" has over 500 players. Yes players, not characters. As this is not my main server (I play on Gladden) I only pop on to it onve in awhile. Gladden has over 200 players. And these numbers are just what I've seen in the user defined gobal chat channel when I have logged on. We've lost some long-time players lately but gained a lot of new ones and we just seem to keep growing. LotRO is far from hiding in the shadows, and isn't receiving the credit it deserves.
