No more confusion: Atari drops Infogrames name

maybe i should watch this no country for old men movie...
anyway...I feel really bad for Atari, it hurts seeing companies fall to pieces kinda like Midway did and Atari looks like its headed in that direction even though it seems they're making some pretty good attempts at staying alive

I remember the original Infogrames and have always associated the name with great looking, but just okay games. It's not the name the conjures up anything particularly great.
Atari on the otherhand has both a good and bad image. There's nostalgia, but as of late Atari has become something of a name for just okay or mediocre games.
It's a shame, because they HAD so many great properties. And Infogrames acquired a lot of great properties that were run into the ground, cut loose, or never heard from again. The whole story ought to be a case study on what NOT to do.
But back to Atari, I haven't held out much hope for them, and as much as I'd love to see another Test Drive, I'm not holding my breath.

I absolutely hate that movie.

The Infogrames branding > Atari branding

They'll always be Infogrames to me. Glueing feathers to your butt and quacking does not make you a duck.

But Infogrames is innovation, the power of imagination. Infogrames is entertainment. It rocks my world.

Cormac McCarthy writes awesome books.
