Qore leak reveals new PSP Metal Gear and more

In a leaked interview in the June issue of Qore, Sony's John Koller revealed new game announcements Sony is set to make at its E3 2009 press briefing. Among the titles mentioned are (a previously revealed) Jak & Daxter PSP and a re-emergence of Gran Turismo for the handheld -- first revealed when the PSP was announced.

Koller also mentions a new Metal Gear Solid for PSP is in the works, which may be the subject of the current Kojima Productions countdown nonsense (seriously, stop). Also, around the 15 second mark of the leaked Qore video, footage appears that bares a striking resemblance to Warhawk -- but (as comments have pointed out) the ship appears apart of the Jak & Daxter footage reel. Other clips include footage of LittleBigPlanet and Jak & Daxter.

Let's hope, for Sony's sake, this video doesn't encapsulate the lion's share of announcements the company was planning for June 2. Incidentally, crack out those bingo cards and a big red marker ... you have a few things to cross off.

This isn't a new design it's just a Sony Mylo. Google image search Sony Mylo. That was introduced 2006!

Well, one's for sure about the new psp - no one from Apple designed the damn thing. That thing would have been sent back to the drawing board for being too ugly. Not to mention, the placement of the keys and analogue nub, at least from the pictures, doesn't look promising either. This is definately not on my "must buy" list; I'll be sticking with my existing 2000 model for some time to come.

Is PSP GO the confirmed name? I remember it being the rumored name, but I'm not clear on whether it was confirmed or not. Awful name.

It's really called the PSP GONE, as in, those PSP sales are GONE and they aren't coming back.

Could see myself getting this for the sole purpose of having a dedicated place to store my original PSN games and PSone classics, but I don't think I'd be buying new full releases for it.

I hope this wasn't being planned as Sony's HUGE E3 announcement... :(

Well the rumoured Box Art between the PSP Go! and the PS3 Slim are pretty close. This is most likely not Sony's big announcement. Sony has good games this year, I think they recognize it and they're gonna drop a shit-ton of announcements to get people to buy their products.

One thing I really would like to see is all of the past PSP Square Enix games (as well as the PSOne era Square games) made available for purchase on PSN.

If Sony and Square could work together and manage to do that, that would go a long way towards convincing me to buy one of the PSP GOnorrheas.

Well, I'm not a huge MGS4 fan. I just said that the countdown was for MGS4 Director's Cut because a guy from Sony Europe said it was. Anyway, we'll see if he was right or not in a couple of days.

the incompatibility everyone talks about is with new games on old consoles. The DSI has games the DS won't play. Who cares if there's an incompatibility?

If i want 16 gigs of memory i'll buy a 16 gig memory stick. probably around... i'd guess 70-130 dollars less then this bullshit.

No second analog stick, no L2/R2 buttons, no camera, no touchscreen= snoozeville

I swear Sony is doing what Nintendon't. I do not mean that in a nice way. This is coming from a guy who is on their 2nd PSP.

Oh, and people are really going to sit around waiting for a game to download on something with the word "Go" in it's name? No, Sony. You continue to disappoint :(.

I don't know...I like it and like the idea of no UMD plus the extra memory slot to expand it more.

I was going to get the 3000, but heard the rumor of this one and now I'm glad I waited.

So Sony fires the first shot. Looks like Sony is trying to steal some thunder from Microsoft on Monday. Microsoft might have something big in the works, for Sony to do something like this. Now we all know that the Metal Gear game Kojima is hyping up is for the PSP Go!

You know why it doesn't have two analog sticks? Because the current analog sticks sucks. Trying to control a game with two of those stupid little things would be a headache.

I can see maybe getting one as a PS1 classics handheld but it sure is hard to look at.

I really don't understand the hate with the look. It's better looking that the current PSP.

As much I like this thing, Sony & Nintendo need to stop fudging around make true PSP & DS 2s. I'd love the PSP go if it had memory stick slot(not mini or w/e it has), a big step up in all specs, high-res screen, a second analog stick where those start/select buttons are, a iPhone tier touch screen, and a decent camera(at least 3-5 MP w/ 480p video recording) on the back of the screen. That's my dream PSP 2. I'd also like for it to be at least as powerful as the PS2 gamecube or xbox 1 at best.

There's probably something else crazy I can think of, but I think that's enough.

I dont mind the look but the bottom slider where the controls are is ugly also the contols are placed in such a bad way

so anyone with an Ipod or an iPhone already has Need for Speed, and you guys MIGHT be getting GT...? Sad..

i really think this stuff is all fake.. its really badly put together.. look at the photoshoping on the hands.. its horible.. and the actual device looks like its eather a home made fake.. or EXTREAMLY early in development..

It's about time Qore releases some news/info on it's videos. I stopped downloading, and installing them to my PS3 because some episodes are lame.... But I'm might just start downloading them again.

I wonder if this thing has a touch screen and accelerometer? Did I miss something. I agree with most in saying the thing is ugly. I'm not really a handheld gaming fan to be honest but I was tempted to get a DSi, then news of this came. I'm hoping to be in impressed when it actually gets revealed, right now though it doesn't look very interesting.

I recall on PS1 that when the dual analog controller came out it had that on/off button in the middle with the light they could have added something like that I thnk dual stick would be better especially for games that are on both ps3 and psp and xbox360
