I'm really looking forward to E3 this year mainly because I nknow that Sony will release new info about the PSP Go! The main features I hope thesystem has are

a) more durability, I found that the original PSPs were really weak

and

b)Better internet capabilities, I want to be able to watch Keyboard Cat on my PSP!

Wow, a lot of people looking at the aesthetics and not much else. I'll have my name down for one of these, been meaning to pick up a PSP for a while now but always thought the idea of a portable system with disks was dumb. Now i wont have to bother with the disks.

As many other people have theorized, I think Sony will have some way to trade UMD's in for digital copies of the game. I have a hard time believing Sony would go out of their way to help the people who do not want to upgrade at the expense of those who do.

In addition, every UMD traded in for a digital copy would be one less that Sony would have to worry about on the used game market.

Having a program like this, even if it costs Sony a bit of money, would be a win for both sides. Heck, I'd probably even pay a few bucks per game to get rid of some of my UMD's that I have to carry around if I want to play more than one game.

Gosh, Sony, it's like you are becoming more stupid every year. You see that the iPhone is really changing the gaming market, and Nintendo used their "idea" of digital downloads on an handheld device. Now Sony has to jump on to the bandwagon. BTW 16 Gb is not enough space for what they are going to use it for and besides they really should just drop that gay ass Memory Stick and just go with SD since more users use that... I hate it when Sony uses their proprietary products on their products. If I want to buy a mass-memory card, I can just go get one, since I use SD cards.

"We are always looking to meet the needs of our consumers" -John Koller

Well then, John, listen closely we need:

-a TOUCHSCREEN and a SECOND ANALOG NUB

Only problem with that...what about all of the consumers who just bought PSPs. How are they gonna sell games that require a) a touchscreen or b) an analog nub to people who don't own a system with those features? Easy answer - they can't. They'd only be shooting themselves in the foot considering the amount of games they still have in development for PSP and on store shelves.

Now wait. Where is the battery slot? Battery charger port? USB?

Nonetheless, this is the biggest disappointment from Sony thus far. The front looks... Mylo-ish. The button positions are horribly placed, and the back just doesnt look right.

And if it will focus on wireless & direct downloading, will it minus other things like file transfer from a PC? thus my question on the USB.

This is my take on it IF Sony wanted a second analog nub. Sony should scrap the D-Pad. That's right I said it. Scrap the D-Pad and make the analog nub the primary method of movement for games. Move (and shrink) the Start and Select buttons to the nubs current position. Place a second nub at the current Start and Select position.

Now a reason I'd imagine why Sony DIDN'T add a second nub is because developers would become reliant on using that nub for camera control and other little features that would close out their current PSP-owners as far as new games are concerned. Not everyone has the money or desire to buy a new system. Sony's trying to get games sold to as many parties as possible. They still have a lot of games in development and on store shelves. The goal is to get as many games into the consumers hands as possible. Sure it's cool to sell a system, but once everyone has a system then what? Is the revenue supposed to end?

I won't judge it otherwise though. I'd like to actually try using it before commenting further on the system. Additionally, Sony needs to develop a way for their current PSP-owners to migrate away from the UMD, either through a dongle or service.

If there isn't a second analog stick on this thing then fuck that noise! I don't get it, that is like the #1 feature everyone wants out of the new PSP and it's like the only fucking thing that this doesn't have, supposing it is real.

I could surely find at least one title among... those games which are dog-listed, dog-eared, and suggest the doggy style to consumers of interest.

This new PSP is not impressive, it is not attractive, and the incarnation of the 3001 model was complete arbitration. I have not felt so abused in my whole life as I have up to this point as a consumer when products are being sold increasingly obsolete out of the box. This is a fact that is fervent in the electronics market, however the rapidity of new models being launched is staggeringly dispassionate.

Video games are not an investment. They are just products of passive interest. This new hardware release has jarred me and coincidentally I've lost interest in the material.

I sold my PSP, my DS, and games the evening of May 30th.

They keep saying it is smaller and more portable, but look how big it is when it is open! The thing is huge, I don't want to play that thing out in public. Also what the hell is the analog stick doing in the middle of the system. Can you imagine trying to play Resistance Retribution with that thing, can you say carpal tunnel! I don't know why everyone is sweating over a second analog stick, that is never going to happen. If you want to play with two analogs, sit at home and play your PS3. The games are not made for two joysticks and they are not going to make a system that the games are just not compatible with. I am a huge Sony fan boy and have gotten every PSP system since PSP1000 launched. I still have my 1000 model, it weighs a ton and still works great. I love the idea of dropping the UMD drive but I have to say that if this is the real deal count me out!

Personally, I'm not impressed at all. I though this was supposed to rival the iPod Touch. That means adding a touch screen, or some ground-breaking features, something that makes someone like me(, already a PSP 2000 owner), want to buy another PSP , because the fact is, if you have a decent memory stick, there is not really much difference in what ability you have with the device. Especially if you already have a decent library of games.

Also, STAYING AHEAD OF THE CURVE? WTH?
Apple has had the App Store for like 9 months. IMO, thats behind the curve, by quite a bit, especially in a world where devices like the PSP are updated so often.

Come on Sony, just another unnecessary upgrade
