Side-by-side comparison shots of rumored box art for the (just leaked) PSP Go and a rumored slimline PS3 are turning online heads today, as both feature a nearly identical design. The comparison -- slapped together by PlayStation LifeStyle -- feature similar system positions, memory capacity icon locations and the same XMB wave design backdrop (albeit in different colors).
Of course, both images may be fake. However, the fact that multiple outlets were slapped with cease and desist orders following the release of the rumored PS3 slim images and that the PSP Go art features the actual system design (not a mock-up) when it appeared online alongside today's Qore leak, makes the validity of the PS3 slim rumor an interesting topic of conversation leading into the industry's big show.

Don't see what you have against the designs. The PSP Go! is sexy in it's closed state, and not that bad when it's open. And we haven't even seen this rumored slim PS3, so it's not fair to judge that now is it?

Are you serious? Look where they put the analog stick.
They really couldn't have put it in a worse place.

the psp go is looks ok to me, i have to actually hold it to judge, and i already have a ps3 so the slim doesn't factor in for me at the moment. i just hope they say something about the final fantasy movie coming out on blu-ray that day and we can download ff7 from psn along with related LBP content. it was all a dream

Is the screen for the new PSP larger than before?

smaller. 3.8"
A second video from Qore shows the PSP Go in even greater detail, and also reveals its logo. The handheld will have a 3.8 inch screen--versus the PSP-3000's 4.3-inch screen-

Another game website interviewed the Chinese person who claimed he works at a legal office. (http://www.ultimateps3.fr/news-ps3-2493-exclusive-ups3-ps3-slim-pictures-are-fake.html)
He actually said it was fake. All of this was to sell his fake slim PS3,
but looking at these two photo, I'm beginning to think the slim PS3 is real...
I'm kind of confused.

I like this version of the PSP much better than PSP Go.
(Well, its just my opinion :) )
(I think this is a fan art ?)

I would pay £200 ($300) for that version of the psp that you have, that looks absolutely beautiful, the screen looks freaking impressive.
The PSP GO is fugly from the revealed pictures.. If it retails for more than about $100 -- £60 it aint worth, it looks cheap and a bit shit to be honest.

If this is true it will be another amazing blunder by Sony.
Ever since the first PSP came out, fans, gaming media, devs, EVERYBODY has requested a second analog stick.
There's no way I would ever buy another PSP (or any portable gaming device) unless it has 2 analog sticks. Games are nothing if they don't control well, and if you want to make portable games simulate a home console (the PSP's original goal) then you must have controls to match. It's not like 2 analog sticks are terribly difficult to implement, especially for a company that has spent it's entire life inventing new tech.

has sony ever thought of releasing a psp with two analog sticks and letting developers make control schemes for 1-stick psps and 2-stick ones together?
that would help them

WIthin two weeks of E3 and Sony has this many "leaks".
The unit looks ok until you see the controls. I now what is this it is going to compete with the PSP-3000 non sense? Is Go going to be around in the 16 gig format until the 3000 is all bought out and then next year is Go2 with with 32 gig of memory, GPS, and phone? I would like to see if there was processor and memory upgrade. How is Sony going to address the UMD library people have with a UMDless Go?

So...because Sony put the analog nub in THE EXACT SAME PLACE as the stick is on a DualShock...its wrong? WTF? perhaps they should have placed it in the center of the screen? It has to be recessed, people. That's part of the 'sliding' function. The greater the gap of the two halves, the greater the stress on the sliding parts, which leads to device failure. That's why its recessed. And for style.
Quit complaining. At least you don't have to use some stupid stylus on a cheap, scratchable screen like a certain cheaply-built handheld for kids....

Yes, I forgot, .25 inches is quite a lot to fanboys. If you don't like it, go buy a 3000 series. That's what it's there for. Sony isn't forcing you to buy this. Besides, you really should get ahold of one to check whether it's so bad before you condemn the poor little thing.

All these system revisions don't fix the PSP brand's problem: software.
They could make it triple-screened with three thumbsticks and 120 Gigs of storage. It doesn't mean dick if the 3rd party companies don't pick up the software output and kill off the PSP-to-PS2 mentality.
It may be a handheld, but like the PS3, the PS2 has been the PSP's main competitor. The software doesn't stand out, and the ports to the PS2 makes getting the mobile software moot.
I, for one, am glad the UMD was dumped. It was a mobile Betamax.

I like how after 10 comments people just now comment on the OP, anyway. having to open the thing every time you want to do something; not for me. the controls don't look very ergonomic, looks weirdly proportioned, the only thing I like about the damned thing i s the thinness of it.

I sure as hell hope that PSP Go press release is a total fake to throw us all off. The renders even look like total crap. The closed picture shows the face looking like warped plastic as if the thing was left out on the car dashboard on a sunny 150 degree day in Texas. The original PSP was so sexy, they can't possibly release this thing as a predecessor. I'm waiting for Sony to announce at E3 that...........U HAVE BEEN TROLLED!!!!!!!!! LOLZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!! HERE IS THE TRUE SEX BEAST U HAVE BEEN WAITING 4!!!

Why arent there dual anologsticks?
Posted: May 31st 2009 12:24PM incredibilistic said
My hope is that they refine the design a LOT more before releasing it. The screen itself looks great but it gets butt ugly when you slide out the controls. Outside of the desired 2nd thumbstick (I guess there's just no future for a PSP with dual thumbsticks) the controls look trapped inside those silver circles. The design just looks rushed and I doubt it when through a focus group (probably to keep it secret). I almost feel like this is a repeat of the supposed SIXAXIS controls that were in development way before Nintendo unveiled the Wii-mote. Like they sat back and saw how great Apple was doing with the iPhone and decided it was time to release this now rather than waiting another 6 to 9 months to release a better product. Or the PSPhone which is what everyone wants anyway.
And there was not talk of a touch screen or accelerometer for playing games in the closed screen position.
I just hope the browser is a REAL browser, not that middle-of-the-road crap on the PSP now. With all the Google integration into the PS3 you'd think they could get Chrome installed on there. Or maybe a non-tabbed version of Firefox (unless the new Go model will have more RAM making it possible to perform tabbed browsing).
