You're going to love the Video Game Orchestra
You're all familiar with Video Games Live by this point, and with good reason, it's a great organization. But we want to make sure you don't miss out on one of our new favorites in the field: the Video Game Orchestra, a collection of volunteers just playing for the love of the music.
We've got video of the Boston-based group's take on Metal Gear Solid 3 after the break, but we're betting you're going to want to see all of the clips on its YouTube channel right here.

This is at my school, Berklee College of Music, my friend Chilli is the lead trombone player.
Our VGO does so many ridiculous songs actually, this year they did Final Fantasy, Halo, Sonic, and tons of other shit.

Needs more Cynthia Harrell. Needs the actual Cynthia Harrell. I would pay for her to sing snake eater at my MGS themed funeral.

No kidding, I just didn't like this woman's singing at all.

Some are hit and miss, but Robotnick's theme at 4:45 is awesome.

ColorblindMonk @ May 30th 2009 11:11AM
Sweet! Favorite'd!
Though I can't help but notice the spiky blue haired trombonist.
Uridium @ May 30th 2009 11:19AM
I was at that show, it was really good (if a bit FF-focused.) I was with a friend who wrote about it for the Boston Phoenix:

A mix of Band Geeks and Gaming Nerds?
Awesome, just...awesome.
gaddes @ May 30th 2009 3:57PM
Awesome music, although the vocals were the weakest part... sounds like she was either straining herself or trying too hard? Really loved the music overall though.
Daniel @ May 30th 2009 6:01PM
Not as good as Eminence Orchestra IMO
ccr @ May 30th 2009 8:28PM
Go Berklee College of Music!

I'm not sure about you guys, but I found that grossly annoying. There's one violin that's out of tune with the rest, the main trumpet miss-hits some of the upper notes, and... that SINGER has no breath, her switches into falsetto are super annoying, and she can't annunciate jack. That first few lines when she came in were disgusting.
Plus, that technoey guitar was kind of annoying as well, but more forgiving than that singer. Jeez.
Bring back Cynthia please.
