E3 2009: Dead Rising 2 trailer gets gritty

Though we're not going to be seeing Dead Rising 2 at E3 this week due to Swine Flu concerns, Capcom has apparently released a brand new trailer just before the show to keep the game fresh in our rotted, bloodthirsty minds.

To be Frank, the newest trailer paints a sincerely more serious picture of Dead Rising 2, replete with zombies eating dudes' necks and a whole mess of slow zombie shambling. Unfortunately, as the game is sitting out this week's events, you're just going to have to make due with the newest video, just after the break.

Look Resident Evil! ZOMBIES! You remember those,right?

Resident Evil 5 Enemies were not Zombies they were just Regular people Angry that RE 5 Sucked so they wanted revenge on Chris Redfield:)

The Mall of America isn't the biggest mall in the world. It's the second biggest in the US, and the 11th biggest in the world. But ya, it's effin' huge!

There are lots of games out that that truly do suck. I don't consider Resident Evil 5 one of them.

RE5 doesn't suck, it just doesn't feel like RE anymore.

I just finished DR the other day with the "True" ending. Not bad. Looking forward to this one. And RE5 was a solid title. Why fix what isnt broken?

Wow looks like their doing dead rising to on a bigger scale. Its not just confined to one building but looks like its gonna be severeal big buildings. It looks like its a amusement park of some sort.

why do we only have slow walking zombies like the ones from this game and fast running zombies like the ones from left 4 dead? why hasn't anyone made flying zombies? or swimming zombies? or moonwalking zombies? we need variety, people!

Play Plants vs Zombies for Scuba zombies, bobsled zombies, flying-via-balloon zombies, Michael Jackson zombies (Thriller version, not "Jesus Juice" version) - tons of zombie creativity in that game!

Michael Jackson's Thriller 2 should be announced at E3 this week.

I thought it was going to be "Bubbles the Monkey's Magical Slumber Party" for the wii, with extra wiggling and waggling added.

I still can't believe those cowards are too afraid of the flu.... I guess as developers of resident evil they truly see the violent nature of viruses... but Seriously I don't see the big deal, it's just like the normal flu really....... Nothing says WTF like playing the Dead Rising 2 trailer while another loads in the background. Just as zombies start appearing in this video, the (surprising morbid) voiceover from the advertisment in front of Borderlands starts up and says:

"You are their creator.
Unleash them upon the world, and do unto them whatever you want.
Let their be love.
Let their be light.
Let their be the Sims 3"
(and then the DR2 trailer goes black and silent right before nouveau-Frank pops out of the door...)

Try it yourself: start the Sims 3 advertisement at 1:10 into this Dead Rising trailer. I got the advertisement before the HD Borderlands trailer started at http://www.gametrailers.com/video/e3-09-borderlands/49924. I'd mash them together myself if I wasn't dead tired right now...

So DR2 IS coming to the PS3 then... i'm still all confused...
