No Whiimies! Ubisoft bringing Press Your Luck, Family Feud
We'll forever remember the moment we saw John O' Hurley crush Richard Karn's windpipe, the finishing move in the back alley street fight that decided the next rung of the Family Feud host lineage. A moment like that begs for a video game adaptation, but we doubt that's what we'll be getting when Ubisoft brings the beloved game show, along with Press Your Luck and The Price Is Right to Wii, DS and PC this fall. But wait, Joystiq, there's already a Price Is Right on Wii! No friends, this is The Price Is Right 2010. In fact, all the games have a year attached at the end. Because if there's ever been IPs that beg for annualized versions, it's game shows that haven't changed in five decades.

"No Whiimies" is by far the worst Wii pun. Ever. I love it.
MaRRODkez @ May 31st 2009 7:24PM
I hope they use Dawson for the feud. Er, I suppose his likeness at least. Seeing him sleeze all over and molest the female contestants just like he used to in the old days would be some fine comic relief.

This disappoints me. I mean, yeah, Press Your Luck is probably one of my all-time favorite games, so it's great to hear of a home version.
But, if I may be permitted to whine? I REALLY want this for Xbox Live Primetime. PYL for real (if minor) prizes? Yes, please!
notcoz @ May 31st 2009 7:27PM
Holy crap, what an awful headline.
+++volume+++ @ May 31st 2009 7:45PM
John O'Hurley sucks.
I like Karn so much better.

shovelware at its best.

Its no WHAMMIES (I watched the show in reruns on USA network). And I hope Press Your Luck is better than Price is Right.......which has already been MADE for the DS.....unless they improved it and took out the strikes for not having your opening bid price be close to the actual value......I HATE that!
DM7000 @ May 31st 2009 8:53PM
You seemed to have missed the joke. Whiimies....Whii....Wii....see?
ELUNO @ May 31st 2009 10:08PM
But prices change! I must always have updated prices!
Garst @ May 31st 2009 11:25PM
Having the year attached to the game could be usefull in a game like The Price is Right. That way when you are trying to get a price between $10-12, you don't buy one roll of toilet paper in 10 years.

I loved Press Your Luck back in the day, but I don't understand what the point is of making home versions of chance-based game shows. You can't actually win anything! So... where's the fun?
If they were tied to some account you could win actual club nintendo tokens or something, that'd be different...
