The footage looked AMAZING ! The atmosphere was hands down the best part of it. It's been a long time, yes. But I'm willing to wait a little longer. Looks great.

it said "previously on alan wake" making fun of the fact that it's been a while since we heard about it, leading to "tonight on alan wake" as it was dark in the gameplay. i don't think it's got anything to do with episodic, though i'm sure that would fit with the game

what's so great about it being episodic? i would think it was more likely a chapter split since he is apparently a writer.
