Bungie confirms Halo: Reach, beta included with Halo 3: ODST

i'm 90% sure based on the logo they showed at the end that it's a class based fps ala TF2

So sick, can't wait, I will be waiting in line with hundreds of others for this midnight launch in 2010.

Well, after the ill-conceived franchise milking that was Halo Wars, I'm extremely relieved to see Bungie working on Halo. Halo without Bungie is like Terminator without James Cameron. Doomed to be just another generic shooter flic with no thought to pre-existing canon.

I'd REALLY like to see more games that get away with the Spartans (Seriously, not every Star Wars game needs Luke Skywalker, ja? Same principle) but the possibility of seeing the Spartan's Last Stand on Reach and following the stories of certain parties who didn't make it has got me intrigued to the max.

Um... I play games for SP, not MP... so a beta for a MP option doesn't do a thing for me.

Not Sure if anyone noticed this but in the short teaser it closes with Halo - Reach then into bungie and microsft logos then instead of Fall 2010 it says "Falls". I would be willing to bet money on the fact that this play on words confirms just short of bungie that it WILL be based off of the book Fall of Reach. They could be simply breaking from the norm and saying "falls" instead of "Fall" but personally i take that as a huge play on words. Just wondering if anyone else caught that little tid bit.

This'll hopefully be like the book, and they would have been 75 Spartan II's but some chickened out and those that sat through the training died with they got the cool upgrades to there bodies, i think 33 made it out of the batch with John (Spartan 117 AKA Chief), and it's unknown how many were in the second batch but i know they're... well 300 made it out of the Spartan III Program, but you'll have to read to find out more about that i'm not going to spoil it. i hope they do it like in Halo 1 and we don't know ANYTHING about the covenant, because in the books, they didn't know a thing at this point. Also when do we find out about the Spartans in the Shield world thingy dammit, i wanna know :)

I agree with everyone else's specualtions, especially the 40 years in the future and the prequel, but I do have something that kind of supports the 40 years one, what if when chief went to sleep in the pod he was a sleep for a loooooong time and that is some kind of future world because if you notice...the image of the planet at the end of the reach trailer is oddly similar to the image of the planet Chief is drifting towards in the Legendary ending.
