Microsoft's keynote held a big surprise in Halo: Reach, and we've finally got a direct-feed version of what was shown there for one and all to enjoy. It's worth watching for, well ... because it's Halo.

The fall of Reach is easily the best story they've told within the Halo universe.. It'll be interesting to see what kind of game this is. And it'll be great to finally see the Spartans in action.

Agreed. It is the best of the Halo novel stories. I totally freaked when I saw this trailer. All the more because of the fact that I'm smack in the middle of a second readthrough of that very book (Halo: Fall of Reach).

And did anyone else catch the line 'Spartan(s)' at the end of the trailer. And for those who haven't read the book, yes, John 117 is one of those Spartans.

I'm just excited by all the possibilities they have with the story.

Bungie is seriously the best. Their fan loyalty is tremendous. I cant wait to find out more about this, but until then im just gonna have to keep drooling over the ODST gameplay.

it's really not that hard a thing to remember. FFS in the intro to Halo 1 there's a giant fucking planet in the background that you can see throughout almost the entire game

Hopefully they will get the story right for this one, like Halo 1, unlike Halo 2 and 3.

How is it any worse than another MGS game? Or another Call of Duty, etc, etc. This just seems to be a generic complaint people use against something they don't like.

Halo at least has a huge universe, seeing different aspects of it like this is great, in my opinion.

I have played all Halo games and they get worst but I have a little hope on ODST since is story focus and not another Half assed single player game with all the focus on a online component.

Wait did you just say MGS and COD don’t? Okay then.

The problem is that I know about Halo story but the games heavily ignore it. Have you played Halo wars? What was the f*cking point of that story? Halo 3 had little story unless you count the terminals and it only counts if you have read all the Halo books. Halo Wars would have been great for the fans if the campaign took place during several key moments like the Fall of reach or the Covenant occupation during halo 2.

Well eNrique already answer that one for me.

Halo 3 lose every good aspect of 1 and 2 I mean a lot of people didn’t liked 2 but for the Arbiter alone that game was really good. In Halo 3 we return to good old boring Master Chief and without the exploration of Halo 1 Halo 3 campaign doesn’t goes beyond okay.

Hey but if you don’t want to be picky and accept whatever they throw you into the face is fine by me I just hope you didn’t bought every map pack like me the fool who got played and spent a lot of MS points on map packs that are going to be worthless when everyone moves to Reach.

Disregard the last part ODST looks like a huge improvement on the Halo series.
I just hope Reach is a new star for the series.

Sorry but I have to disagree. I prefer the story in Halo over the convulted mess of the MGS games, especially the 4th one. And it's a multiplatform series now, so please don't pin me as a fanboy.

I just find it ironic you use "quality over quantity" and cite Metal Gear Solid as an example.

CoD cant count as having a huge universe, because it's historical, so it's cheating. Except of course for MW2, which really, wasnt anything we hadnt seen Alec Baldwin as Jack Ryan or Special Agent Mctuffguy in any fictional war movie

I was not and I didn't use MGS, you bring that up. Do you suffer from short memory loss? And your personal opinion is not a fact so seriously what the hell is your problem? "Now is a multiplatform so I'm not a fanboy" Yes you are but what does that have to do with anything?

But now that we are on the subject I have read all the Halo material form Novels to the Marvel comics, I have several rare variants from Uprising and MGS has better writing but each its own of course MGS WTF moments and the fact that in some moments the game tell us to feel bad for the people who tried to kill us in the last cut scene makes it really hard to recommend. Now than neither Halo nor MGS are good examples of good writing.

I’m just saying they should wait a little before releasing their games to work on the graphics and what not, I mean ODST look a bit better than Halo3 but all I see is that they are using the Legendary pack light sources.

And so far MGs games have been good even MGS2 was enjoyable I just wish I could see what the hell is going on in MGS3 it looks blurry and fuzzy in HD.

Now that it might be a good game Halo game shave been okay is just that they are not as good as their predecessors, I for one still like more Halo 2 than 3 but ODST looks okay to me and reach I just hope they do some changes. Bots would be nice.

Ok, I know it's difficult for some exceptional people to follow a mindblowing story, when you can play teh haloz and teh gears and get engaged by its, well, story. That's ok, don't worry you are just doing fine.

Ironic, so are you trying to say that, teh haloz's story is better than the one in MGS?
Ok, I understand that "that mess of story" (as you called it) may be too much for you.
Again, don't worry there will always be haloz and gears for you, my friend.
