It's epic because of the book the game is going to be based on. Do you know what Reach is? It's the planet where all 5 year old kids, including Master Chief, were trained to become Spartans. Go read the book and you will see why everyone is excited. I just hope Bungie doesn't give us a half-assed single player campaign.

Sorry but I have to disagree. I prefer the story in Halo over the convulted mess of the MGS games, especially the 4th one. And it's a multiplatform series now, so please don't pin me as a fanboy.

CoD cant count as having a huge universe, because it's historical, so it's cheating. Except of course for MW2, which really, wasnt anything we hadnt seen Alec Baldwin as Jack Ryan or Special Agent Mctuffguy in any fictional war movie

I was going to buy ODST anyway because my Halo 3 disk broke 2 months after I bought it. It better be at most $30.

if anyone has read the book first strike, its about master chief coming back to reach after halo combat evolved, he rescues the (5 or 6)remaining spartans along with Dr. Halseley, or it could be about the spartans fighting on reach before chief gets there. also these are the remaining spartans that are stuck inside the shield world at the end of onyx, that would be cool if the game starts at reach then continues the story after hosts of onyx

Something tells me this is going to be the 3rd person tactical squad Halo game that was rumored about months ago. After all, the lead designer for Ghost Recon left his old job to join the Halo development team.
