Looks like an old-school arcade game. Could be a very good thing if it plays well, or the opposite if it doesn't. I'll wait and see with this one, certainly could be interesting.

Hey, they need all the help they can get in the "hardcore" games department. That said this looks really good, I can't wait to see what develops.

Mr. Khan,
Why surprised? The game REQUIRES Motion Plus.

YES! Now I won't have to waste my money on wii sports resort! (Well, if red steel 2 is good, anyways) I could actually play a game I will play for a long time with wii motion plus!

Don't buy into the hype peoples. Remember, this is Ubisoft, the same team who made the first Red Steel... remember how "good" it looked. Remember how much Nintendo and Ubisoft hyped it. Sure it's been a few years and they've had a chance to work with the hardware, and this motion plus "supposedly" improves things... but just on principle alone, don't buy into this hype.
If Ubisoft gives us a trade-in credit for the original game or packs the original game in with this title (obviously improved so we can actually play and finish the currently unplayable Red Steel), then maybe I'd consider a purchase... but as it stands now, unless this game came out at the $30 mark, I won't even bother with it.
And I hope you won't either...

You just learned this Joystiq? Really? I know most of you probably don't speak French but before the first gameplay video was up online I sent you a copy of the gameplay video in the tips and a translated copy of a press release stating that not only will Red Steel 2 be the first Wii game to us Wii Motion Plus but it will be bundled with the device. Man I'm gonna give up sending them in haha, not like they ever check em it seems.

It's not going to be the first though. Grand Slam Tennis and Tiger Woods 2010 will be out first, and Wii sports resort.

You know what would make this better? If they bundled a star wars lightsaber game too.....not that they would but a boy can dream.

This might be the smartest, yet dumbest move if they are not going to have a non-bundled version cause quite a bit of games are going to be bundling with the M+. At least for me, I will be getting Tiger Woods with the bundle, so that is already 1/2 Wiimotes and I might want to get Wii Sports Resort.

I was fairly impressed with the movement translation during the keynote. There were a few times where he had his hands up and to the left, and the sword was down and to the right and looked like it couldn't decide where to go next, but overall it was pretty good.

Ha ha, blasphemy and down votes... guess none of you bought the Wii when it first came out, or Red Steel. I assumed most of the posters here got the Wii "after" it was cool, instead of like some of us more faithful who pre-ordered it :)
Anyway, it's good to see Ubisoft can still sucker people into their lackluster Wii games. But who knows, maybe Red Steel 2 will be fantastic and I'll be proven wrong, but I doubt it.
Honestly fanboys, I'm sure there will be some huge Nintendo titles available this year, but this ones not one of them...
Downvote away, but you know I'm right :)

Watch Red Steel footage. Now watch the new Red Steel 2 footage.
If you do not see the huge ass jump in quality then your one blind motherfucker.

@Jordan White - How is graphic quality relevant? I bought a Wii because it offers unique experiences, not great graphics (though in a few cases, it does, Metroid Prime 3 being a prime (haha) example). Red Steel one looked fine, but it controlled terribly. My prediction is that Red Steel 2 will also fail in controls, among other elements. I may be proven wrong, but a video can not prove me wrong in this instance.

Hey, the only reason I got my Wii after they became the cool thing is because I couldn't find one around here. I had to wait a year for Gamestop to do there Christmas reserve thing and I got it then.
Go read the IGN stuff for Red Steel 2 and that should relieve you. The demo build that they used at the conference had 3 difficulty settings with the highest level one using Metroid Prime 3's Advanced setting. But, then they came out and said that they were implementing complete customization of the controls like The Conduit is offering and the reason it wasn't in the E3 build is because they wanted people to play the game rather than take their time messing with the multitude of control options.

Aww, poor puppies, taking so much offense to one man's opinion and making stupid "must be trolling" comments. Pretty pathetic.
You boys need to man up a little and stop being such friggin' babies while defending a sequel to a crappy game. I'm just being realistic and saying that it's not likely to be any good, regardless of what some media turds might think.
If you thought Red Steel was a good game, downvote me.

This is good because I didn't really want to get Wii Sports Resort

Red steel should be fun for serious gamers who want to take their game play to the next level aside of simply tossing around frisbees to dogs with the Wii Sports Resort. Looks like the next Legend of Zelda game will be designed for the Motion Plus so that's something to look forward to aside of those who like playing tennis and golf with it.
