StarCraft II targeting an '09 release

Blizzard president Mike Morhaime confirmed in an investor webcast that StarCraft II has been planned for release later this year. "We're targeting an end of year release this year for StarCraft II," said Morhaime. "But as always, we won't release it until it meets our standards and the expectations of our players."

With the beta opening this summer, it looks like there will be more than enough StarCraft for fans to sink their Zerg-like talons into.

I know they don't need to because of their healthy income but I wish Blizzard would release this on next gen systems. I'm sure many would be willing to use a keyboard and mouse controls if needed.

I would move my mouse and keyboard from my media center to my PS3 to play SC2 on my TV. Sure my PC has more horsepower, but my TV is so much bigger and nicer than my monitor.

think of it more like expansions. if you buy the first one that is released (Terran campaign) you still get full multiplayer and such.

I'm pretty sure you'll get full multiplayer. I don't think they'll limit you to only playing terran in multiplayer, just in single player.

Have you ever waited for, or bought a game made by blizzard? My bet is they'll realize "Damn.. that needs to be fixed." Then release it 4 months later than everyone thinks.

It's been awhile since I've bought a Blizzard game, but I know they patch things years after release.
