The 'instruments' look great! I guess I will be picking up the special edition set after all!
Roto13 @ Jun 1st 2009 2:03PM
The one on the left looks like a ukulele. :P
LiqwidZero @ Jun 1st 2009 2:15PM
That's Paul McCartney's bass guitar, granted it's much smaller than the actual thing and it's set up for right-hand use (Paul is a lefty).
GewurztraminerX @ Jun 1st 2009 2:22PM
And I wish it were available separately
Misframed @ Jun 1st 2009 3:35PM
Paul was a lefty but he played a right-handed guitar... flipped. so technically it is correct, just the way he is playing it is wrong...
seamonkey420 @ Jun 1st 2009 1:52PM
oh sweet rocking!!!!!
i'll be getting the game for sure; not sure on the instruments. we'll see.
Matisyahu Serious @ Jun 1st 2009 1:53PM
"Oh, that's right, downloadable albums."
but not for wii though, right? due to their licensing issues?
JKR @ Jun 1st 2009 1:54PM
"Here Comes the Sun" and "Octopus' Garden" are both on Abbey Road, so there's a bit of overlap there. It's odd that they'd make songs from the Beatles disc available as DLC; but I guess those two songs probably aren't going to keep anyone from buying the new game. I mean, one of them is a Ringo song.
LiqwidZero @ Jun 1st 2009 1:56PM
Yes, it is. But more than likely, you'll be paying for the rest of the songs for each album.
Camdon @ Jun 1st 2009 3:56PM
RB has done this before. Albums like Ten, Blood Sugar Sex Magick, and The Colour and the Shape already had a track available on the disc game. What they do is just add the rest of the songs on Abbey Road that aren't on the disc.
Christ-ian @ Jun 1st 2009 1:59PM
HOLY SHIT!
knightatdisney @ Jun 1st 2009 2:04PM
I was hoping to get all the songs in the game but I guess I was naive ...
Farseer (GDI) @ Jun 1st 2009 2:08PM
Abbey Road is awesome. How about the chronology, though? Their last album is the first one you can buy in full? ;)
baby sea tuna @ Jun 1st 2009 2:10PM
I was sort of so-so on this game until that presentation. Suh-weeeeet!
KFelon @ Jun 1st 2009 2:16PM
Will the downloadable albums work in Rock Band 1 or 2 if I don't buy the Beatles game?
GewurztraminerX @ Jun 1st 2009 2:20PM
My guess? No.
LiqwidZero @ Jun 1st 2009 2:21PM
I don't know for sure, but I'll go ahead and say that I'm 99.89% sure that it won't.
KFelon @ Jun 1st 2009 2:30PM
I'm pretty sure they won't be cross compatible either. I'm not a big Beatles fan which means I probably won't be buying any of the songs unless I can play them in Rock Band.
damezio09 @ Jun 1st 2009 3:41PM
0_o what
oolz @ Jun 1st 2009 3:45PM
No, The Beatles: Rock Band is a new/upgraded engine with new features that the old engines don't support.
gumbie07 @ Jun 1st 2009 2:27PM
I could go the rest of my life without ever hearing another Beatles song! I just threw up in my mouth when I read this article. The Beatles SUCK!
GewurztraminerX @ Jun 1st 2009 2:36PM
You're perfectly entitled to your opinion, despite how wrong it is.
Eric E @ Jun 1st 2009 2:47PM
yes but your opinion doesn't really add to the conversation at all.
Your opinion that you should troll, i mean.
Your opinion about them sucking is just wrong cause almost all modern music has in some way been influenced by the beatles.
And if you hate all music then you probably kill puppies why you masturbate or something.
KFelon @ Jun 1st 2009 2:29PM

I for one wont be buying crap until dlc and everything is available to all platforms.
Of course if everyone did this they"ll see it as "See we picked the right platform, the other one isn't selling"
like Damn valve and when they shitted out orange box for the ps3.
And i hope/it should be available to RB2, you just wont get fancy instruments and cool BGs and characters.
Tegolin @ Jun 1st 2009 2:49PM
WHERE. IS. HELTER. SKELTER.
Seriously is they don't announce The Beatles' heaviest song....
They will. Its HMX. They are amazing.
Matthew Perry @ Jun 1st 2009 3:26PM
"Hey guys, guess what?! Not only can you give us money for a game, but now you can give us more money after you buy it for content that should clearly be available from the get-go anyway!"
I'm going to buy the game, because it's going to be awesome. But there's no way I'm going to download that DLC.
oolz @ Jun 1st 2009 3:47PM
what illogical line of thinking makes you feel that Abbey Road should be available in the game and that it's somehow wrong that they offer the rest of it as DLC?
brian salwasser @ Jun 1st 2009 3:28PM
im sad about the drums look, they looks just like rock band 2 durms , thought it would be really like the lugwig drums like there saying
Rocketboy @ Jun 1st 2009 3:30PM
Any word on Mark Chapman DLC?
linx-ibarra @ Jun 1st 2009 4:22PM
The Beatles!!.. do i need to say anything else?
Doug @ Jun 1st 2009 4:23PM
Abbey road wasn't last
garnsr @ Jun 1st 2009 4:38PM
Abbey Road was recorded last, Get Back was released after it, though. It's not clear if they mean you get to download albums only into Beatles, or if they can go into RB2. Few of the songs are more than 3 minutes, you should get more songs on the game disc for this than the other games, which have longer songs, so there should be less to download, but we'll see.
Doug @ Jun 1st 2009 4:54PM
Let It Be was released last, I'm 101% sure.... 1970.
Monkeydog @ Jun 1st 2009 5:34PM
Let It Be was released last, yes, but it wasn't recorded last.
Abbey Road was recorded last. Let It Be was released after Abbey Road mainly based on the doings of Phil Spector, it's kind of an odd ball album, it was recorded before Abbey Road.
J Dogg @ Jun 1st 2009 6:25PM
I really hope that this is reviewed well and sells well. Then, maybe Led Zeppelin will make the decision to have a Rock Band: Led Zeppelin game as well. The possibility of downloadable albums would be amazing, although given their smaller music library than The Beatles, they could probably do a game with their entire song collection on it.
Afterwards, let's hope for Rock Band: Clapton Is God (Crossroads Box Set).
Kyle @ Jun 10th 2009 3:22PM
I could see the downloadable albums being compatible with RB2 if there were a game code that came with the Beatles Rock Band disc.
You know, can't download albums onto RB2 without the game code, or something like that. Just somethin to make sure people buy the Beatles disc.
Walt D in LV @ Jun 15th 2009 3:38PM
In response to the original question:
So, LEGOs or Beatles, who's getting your Rock Band dollar this year?
The answer is a very enthusiastic BOTH!
How else are you going to get all these great songs? Most of the RockBand add-ons, or alone games are around $50, which is very inexpensive depending on how many songs come on 'em. If a song is $2 each, put at least 25 (much more for a great deal) and it's worth it.
All the games so far, RockBand 1, AC/DC, all the Track Packs, are easily installed onto your hard drive, so you only put in the one RockBand 2 disc and play all the songs.
I agree that RockBand is not so much a game, more of an experience. It's Karaoke for a whole band. Four-at-a-time, fantastically fun! Add to the fact they put out another ten or so new songs each week.. Wow!
Actually, what I'm waiting for is RockBand 3, that comes with a keyboard, so we can get all those great British New Wave acts of the early eighties!
