Absolutely charming and beautiful.
That was just amazingly well done.
Interest in the game for me has significantly raised seeing that they've got art direction values like this on board.

I have never been into the Beatles. I just got goosebumps watching that. I consider this game a way to educate myself on the subject. Ive heard maybe ten of their songs so this will be an unusual adventure in September.

If you want an education on The Beatles, go buy the white album. Then try to think about all the bands that are doing the same exact thing RIGHT NOW and getting called revolutionary despite the fact that The Beatles were doing it quite a while ago. Plus it's just a good album.

It's beautiful and it likely cost a fortune.
But to make the game like that would cost a whole lot more.
Maybe some day we'll see graphics like that in games, there's no technical reason we can't.

That intro is superbly done. It's a shame the in-game graphics are closer to the action figure styled characters of the older games than this.
Oh well, as long as one of the stages is actually The Beatles playing on a giant blue elephant I'll be a happy boy.

it would be nice if this game actually came with a guitar controller...

I thought it only came with a bass, mic and drums?

QUICKLY, try and confirm the World Tour drums will be compatible with this game. NOW, before there's still time.

But they don't work with PS3 RB1. They do with 360 RB1. That right there makes me want to ask, to be sure before purchase.

Absolutely gorgeous...But they should have thrown in the big piano hit from the end of "A Day In the Life" when the title came up.

The only way Sony could beat Microsoft's press conference intro would be to bring out the OTHER half of The Beatles. Alive. Along with a PS3 reveal of L4D2 starring said reanimated musicians.

Personally I like both art styles. The intro-trailer got me so excited for it, I literally was bouncing in my seat.
The actual gameplay art kind of reminds me a tiny bit of the old Beatles cartoon series, if anyone knows what I'm talking about.

Reminds me a lot of the sweet GHII commercial:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=erVt0ozPRN0
I remember when you guys reported back then how it was the same animation studio that did the Feel Good, Inc music video, Passion Pictures:
http://www.joystiq.com/2007/05/08/guitar-hero-ii-xbox-ad-care-of-feel-good-inc-animations/
If this is the same studio, then I'm in love with everything these guys touch.

Actually, it's directed by Pete Candeland. Passion Pictures are his reps.
He did the Rockband and Rockband II commercials also (and of course the Gorillaz music videos) so it's quite probable that he did this one, not up on his site yet tho.

OMG, that was incredible! What an elegant intro.
I wish the whole game was like that video.

My exact thoughts.
If each song were to have a similar type of video for each one, rather than a focus on just the band, I think that would be a more interesting game to watch.
Parts of the video are take-offs of the movies, Yellow Submarine, and even the Strawberry Fields video (with the tree and chairs). Given that Yellow Submarine had its own style that was influential for a while, I think the art direction for this game should be different.
I like the thinner models.

somewhat prefer the 3D graphics for gameplay, but this intro is incredible!!
maybe if you could switch between the two...nah. that's asking for a bit much.

Wow, that's amazing. It would be very, very hard to actually make the game look like that, with such a mix of visual styles, and such carefully designed graphic compositions. So I'm cool with the Rock Band style (so much better than the creepy "real" rockers in the GH games) for the game itself. But that intro is a stunning, lovingly crafted bit of animation and design. Can't wait to watch it as I fire up the game for the first time.

So... what exactly is everyone so hyped about? You play Beatles songs on plastic instruments. OK, and?
I mean, I love my Rock Band 2, but why not put out these songs as DLC?

Well, it'd be quite a lot of DLC, considering they're releasing entire albums as DLC for it, so the total songs could shoot up to well over 200. I don't know about you, but I'd rather have a separate game for 200+ songs rather then having them mixed in with my RB2 list.

Actually WallRunner, it is expected the game only contains 45 Beatles tracks.

Because we wanted the game to be released in THIS century, and $3 for adding "Hard Days Night" to your collection didn't suit Paul & Ringo.

Hey "BFBeast666" you sooo deserve to go to hell, seriously. Im glad your headed in that direction. Idiot. YEAH retard just like any GH or RB title, you play a bunch of songs on "plastic instruments." Just like the Metalica, or Ac/Dc titles. Only this is The Beatles you retarded ass. Their like "The" Band that inspired many other bands that are famous as all hell. Probably none of todays bands cause todays bands are a bunch of dipshits! How old are you, 12? 14? Lemme guess, your dumbass would, hmm...sell your soul to satan, for a whole game devoted to Slipknot right or some talentless band like them.
