I love FF7 just as much as any other hardcore RPG fan, but I really wonder if it's going to be as good as everyone else remembers. So much of the game was the amazing graphics and such that really aren't too amazing now.

To me personally it is.

I can't wait for this. I like playing my RPGs on handhelds anyway and glad I have both devices, so I can switch where I play my game depending upon my mood.

What? No it was amazing for the story, characters, atmosphere, music ... The graphics were never really amazing. They were pretty good at the time, but that's about it.

I just replayed all three of the PS1 games. I didn't love 8, but playing through the other two was still very fun. I wish now that I would have waited because I would have rather played on my psp.

The PS1 had a lot of good games. You'd think they would be able to makes lots of cash just ripping ISOs and dumping them on their store.

yea Adrian beat me to it. Sony really needs to do a better job of letting people know that ALL PS3's can play PSOne games. it's just that the newer ones cant play PS2 games is all. but i guess if they did that, they really wouldn't be able to re-sell as many on the PSN.

and that goes overall for Sony really. i've run into people more than a few times that didn't know the PS3 could play DVD's, they thought it just played Blu-Rays. and i mean, not only does it play DVD's but it upscales them as well so it's even better than just playing them.

Hardware vs Software emulation

the PSOne is a lot less powerful of a console, so emulation can be accomplished via software versus the PS2 which needs hardware to accomplish the task

I have FFVII, but I will likely buy it from the store for the convenience...This and MGS...

Sadly, I do wish i had a PS2 still...

This is awesome, but I pray they do not charge separately for each disk like in japan... that would suck...unless it magically totals 10-15 bucks

At least for this generation I'm afraid. And I am not even sure whether I really want a remake anymore, not if they put all that bullshit new stuff from the compilation in it.

Beacuse they would never do a new Street fighter after releasing SSF2T for the store...well maybe they might do an HD remix of that but certainly not a full...oh what?

Anyone else feel this form of sarcasm is becoming increasingly more boring? Or maybe its that it's a lot to type out for being so boring. Very little ROI.

How much will this cost since it was on multiple disks? Also, will the disks be separate downloads or will they be all in one?

I'm confused on how this PSN stuff works.

Does this mean I can play it on my PSP or are there PSP-specific PS1 games that I would have to use instead?

FF6 was the first and FF7 the second FF games I ever played. I enjoy them both, though I suppose FF6 was a bit more 'epic'. Plus those 2-D sprites hold up a lot better after all these years than the block-like FF7 sprites... hm... o_O ...Lego FF7?

I think it's cute how people complain about the graphics on a 10 year old game, then cite even older - and 2D - games as examples of good graphics on a website that is devoted primarily to consoles which are now in HD and have ridiculous 3D graphics.

It's just cute, is all.

Does this get reformatted to look ok on HD screens? Or do they just basically make the original game available for download with no changes?

I always lamented the fact that FF7 was so hard to find in the PS2 days. This is good news for me. I never actually owned FF7 back in the day, but my PS3 has plenty of hard drive space ready for this bad boy. Depends on the price of course...
