Looks good, no? It's gone more or less full 3D, but there's still the same exploring, summons, and (we're guessing) battle that appeared in the last few games. Camelot told us a while back that they'd love to play a Golden Sun DS game, and now that it's announced and we've seen this trailer, we can't help but agree.

Make this good, Camelot. And then make a strategy RPG.

Ditto. I actually like Metroid, but I would take nearly every Nintendo franchise over it any day.

The only thing that impressed or surprised me from the nintendo conference. It actually made me think about buying another DS for about 2 seconds before I snapped back to reality.
Seriously though, I have to think of a way to get my hands on a DS when this comes out without buying one...

No, metroid was always something my brother loved but I never liked, even when I was a kid. In fact I consider Metroid to be the least appealing major nintendo franchise.

Huh the first one was pretty easy. The second was hard though, I give you that.

I beat it without a guide, and bought one afterwards just because I loved it so much. Nintendo has finally made me happy. Sure i would love to see a new Kid Icarus, F-Zero, or Starfox or 1080, but i have no complaints now. I finally have a new Golden Sun

You could always buy a used DS phat or Lite, or borrow someone elses if you really dont want 2 buy one. I would recommend a DS put only if the games on it suit you, DS got some good RPGs.

Wonder if it's actually going to be a sequel, or if they'll ignore the other games. Not that many people played them and they're pretty rare these days..
I never got round to finishing the second game, but I'm pretty sure it ended on another cliff hanger.

It didn't really actually. Well the fate of one of the villains was left open bit he was pretty much clearly defeated. My guess would be a prequel.

They're not that hard to find. I see them all the time when I shop for used GBA games.

1. So, from this point on, GSDS is now Golden Sun DS, and not Gold/Silver DS. :3
2. If it allows me to do an in-game item transfer from the GBA installments, I'm sold.

Since it's supposedly a game about the ancestors of the original protagonists, then the GBA games don't really have much of an impact as far as transfers go (at least, not like the ability to transfer from GS to TLA). But, the ability to transfer what your party had equipped at the end of TLA into this game would make sense. Kind of like family heirlooms.

Just what I was thinking. If not for my characters then for the fact that I collected every damn Djin.
I doubt it will... it's been so long. I guess Pokemon did it...

This has me so excited! Just before I got my DS, I sold off my SP; and my collection of about 40 or so games (which I was keeping for the DS) was stolen by the neighbor kid before he moved, most of which I cannot find used/they are WAY too expensive. Two of those games were GS and GS: tLA. So I recently went online and re-acquired the games in ROM form (if it's legal to back them up, which I'm told it is, then I don't think it's illegal for me to download the ROMs if I owned the games), and started playing the GS games again. This was two days ago. Imagine my complete shock and passion when I saw this announcement this morning! Oh sweet merciful baby Jesus, you are good.

So here's my question ( though it was already asked):
Is this a sequel? Please let it be so!!
I wanna know what becomes of the world with alchemy unleashed!!

spoiler alert : P
Butt hat's why I guessed it would be a prequel. On the other hand, the world after the ending of lost age would make for a pretty interesting setting, you're right.

Nintendo E3 Press Page says this,"Golden Sun™ DS: After going dark six years ago, 2010 will see a new dawn. Golden Sun DS updates the popular portable Golden Sun role-playing series with an impressive graphical style. This installment follows the story of the previous heroes’ descendants and immerses players into the magic of its adventure by pushing the boundaries of intuitive touch-screen controls. Golden Sun DS is playable on the Nintendo DS and Nintendo DSi systems."
Also the Game is Playable on the Show Floor.

I'm still in shock over this. The poster for the game features characters which look similar to Issac, Garet and Mia from GS1. *is excited*

I loved and love the series still... but will I get crucified for saying I would have preffered to have it in 2d? the summons were so epic, and could have been even moreso with 2-d art, but now they seem a bit limited...
Don't get me wrong I would kill a baby for the game, but... *sigh*... the series is so friggen good I will have to forgive it

I don't really like that they ditched the unique 2D art style that was used in the other two GBA games.
Also, Golden Sun: The Lost Age had the most lame ending in my opinion. Very anti-climatic.

Not really liking the bland 3D, a beefed-up 2D art design would be much better. The GBA summons looked nicer, though I last saw them 5 years ago so might be talking garbage

I just came from doing my daily exercises and what do I see? A new Golden Sun confirmed for the DS! Oh, and many more other awesome things.
Nintendo, you just made me restore most of my faith in you. I was about to lose it, but you dropped this and Metroid and have made my day with both of those games.
You sure know how to give surprises. I think I shouldn't underestimate you no more. I'll make sure to buy this game on the first day, I don't care if I'll be 20 by that time! Gaming has been my life, and it'll be until the day I die.
