Anyone who has heard of PSP knows of Patapon. It's one of the most popular titles on that platform and is quite a unique and engaging experience. But, what if you're a DS owner; how will you get in on the action? Well, seeing as Patapon is a first-party Sony title, you won't ever see it on DS ... not without the help of the homebrew community, anyhow.
Apparently, someone called E-eragon is working on a DS version of Patapon, looking to upgrade the original title to include stylus controls. Tiny Cartridge discovered a clip of E-eragon's work (posted after the break), and though it doesn't look as smooth as the original, it is by far a rather good-looking copy. Check out the game before Sony slams the law book on this one.

I wouldn't say it's a shame that it'll be shut down considering Patapon's still on store shelves and Patapon 2 just came out. It would be cool if somebody hired the person responsible though.

@InFaMoUs1:
What do you mean "the game looks horrible on the DS"? You know this is fan-made right? It's not a hacked version of the original game, it's a homebrew game made with no budget whatsoever... That's why it is a shame that this game will be killed and why it deserve some respect, even if you are a Sony fanboy.

I have to agree with InFaMoUs1- on this one and disagree with the others....
I know it's homebrew. That doesn't give it an excuse to suck. I've played plenty of GOOD homebrew stuff. It's an insult to the rest of the community to give too much credit to someone just because they're poorly porting something familiar.
All that said, hopefully it goes somewhere in the future. I saw nothing of the "stylus gameplay" the article mentioned.

Shame it's going be C&Ded to death. Perhaps the creator should have hidden all personal info and make it hard to trace it back to him. Hard to C&D that. And once it's released on the internet, it's there for good.

If you guys don't want Sony to slam the book on it then don't report on it until it's done.

Ug. It pains me to see this. Of course it will be C&D'd all over the place. With all due respect, the developers are morons. Never advertise homebrew that will obviously be thrown away by legal actions. Wait till it's complete, throw it out online, then advertise. Then, like Viktor said, once it's on the internet, it's there for good. It just hurts because this looks so promising, and the developers dug their own grave.

hope sony doesn't see this.
the finished product could have higher quality btw.
this was just some kind of demo of how it would be i think.

...The sounds are from different drums, I'm pretty sure... Ugh.
But the guy contacted Sony himself before starting... This is OLD news... Check his site for more info.

I'll definitely be downloading it when it gets finalized. Patapon is one of the reasons I'm going to buy a PSP
