Tactical Espionage is back and on PSP. Kojima announced
Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker at Sony's conference calling it a "true sequel" that's definitely "not a spin-off or side story." Kojima himself will be writing the script and producing the game, so fans can rest easy they're getting an authentic
Metal Gear experience.
The game is set in the 1970s, 10 years after the events of
Metal Gear Solid 3. It will star, yet again, Big Boss and will take place in Costa Rica, divulging the back story of Outer Heaven's creation. It will debut in 2010.

That quadruple Snake action looked intense.
rohan @ Jun 2nd 2009 4:14PM
i know, think it could be 4 player co op (unlikely hope im wrong), or a extra missions you can play with friends
Katmassive @ Jun 3rd 2009 12:19AM
i think kojima is a very hilarious guy with the 2 snakes in the box practically dry humping how close they were lmao
makes you wonder exactly how may does fit in the box?
charlie b. @ Jun 2nd 2009 3:09PM
this looks good, but the "Love Pack" better be in it.
DaveMcRae the Haiku Artist @ Jun 2nd 2009 3:15PM
Does that mean we'll be getting more Eva cleavage?
216 @ Jun 2nd 2009 3:17PM
oh it sure does
Kimberlin @ Jun 2nd 2009 3:18PM
I love the fact Kojima said this was a true follow up to MGS which he did not say for Metal Gear Solid Rising. I will def get both new MGS games but yea 360 seams to get the shaft again not a true sequel just a spin off lol.
Nineteen88 @ Jun 3rd 2009 2:04AM
LoL, The good part about what you wrote is that it's true! Poor MS, always gets the shaft!
Massmass @ Jun 2nd 2009 3:40PM
I miss the cold and grittiness of MGS. A shame they're still making things pretty and warm feeling.
TavoElTico @ Jun 2nd 2009 3:48PM
I'm shocked, I can't believe this is going to be on my country.
Kind of worried, though, no idea how they'll paint us. People can be really ignorant.
But well, Limón has some beautiful beaches, and nice people, but is has never been the richest area in the country. We'll see how it goes...

I can't wait for Metal Gear Solid 5: Pacemaker - a Solid Snake babysitting sim.
Dopple Boppler @ Jun 2nd 2009 4:12PM
A direct sequel to Snake Eater? Oh fuck yes I am in, even if I have to buy a PSP just for this.
KarlW @ Jun 2nd 2009 5:14PM
Exactly what I thought. I loved Snake Eater's sneaking system. I hope they've brought camo back!
rohan @ Jun 2nd 2009 4:15PM
if this is a direct sequel to MGS3, then what was MGS: PO?
OLDMIKE @ Jun 3rd 2009 2:29AM
MGS;PO was not a solo sneeking like all the rest think thats why
ImSteevin @ Jun 2nd 2009 4:16PM
I would much rather have another AC!D. I tried playing portable ops because I was like MGSPSPOMG and was just totally pissed at the controls. If you haven't played any of the AC!D games and you like MGS or card-based strategy games, you MUST PLAY THEM. If I had to only have on game for PSP, it'd be MGA 2.
Copland @ Jun 2nd 2009 4:29PM
What happened to Metal Gear Solid: Rising for PS3 :(
BananaBoat @ Jun 2nd 2009 4:32PM
I'm annoyed that Raiden stars in the console game, and Snake gets stuck on the PSP. I'm going to buy both games for sure, but I'd rather have had a Snake game on the PS3, and a Raiden game on the PSP.
Metal Gear Solid 3 ties MGS4 for me as the best MGS game. A sequel was more than warranted, and I hope that Peace Walker will live up to MGS3.
Firewarrior @ Jun 2nd 2009 4:46PM
Why are people worried about the new MGS not coming to PS3? Didn't Konami release a press release with PS3 confirmed to also get it? There's no point showing a teaser like in the MS conference.
Anyways, Peace Walker trailer had the best ending. Haha.
Hukuzo @ Jun 2nd 2009 5:29PM
Despite being a huge Metal Gear fan, I still haven't played Portables Ops. Once I have my PSP fixed, I'll definitely buy that and wait for this.
calvin @ Jun 2nd 2009 10:15PM
nah definitely don't get MGS:PO. It'll only diminish your expectations of what's possible for a MGS game on the PSP
ImSteevin @ Jun 3rd 2009 2:24PM
Get Metal Gear Acid or Acid 2, you won't be disappointed. It's just awesome, and it fits the system perfectly. I think MGA2 is about 20 bucks new if you look around, totally worth it.
Cyber-Tyrant @ Jun 2nd 2009 8:24PM
Snake?
Snake?
Snake?
Snake?
SNAAAAAAAAKES!!!
atastysammich @ Jun 2nd 2009 8:38PM
Y'know what'd be Extra Awesome? If they pull some excuse out of their ass to sneak Steve Blum into the voice cast again.
Jonah @ Jun 2nd 2009 10:12PM
I'm waiting for MGS X. Thats right, I said X.
Nineteen88 @ Jun 3rd 2009 2:28AM
Is anyone of the editors able to confirm if MGS:Rising isn't an X360 Exclusive?
OLDMIKE @ Jun 3rd 2009 2:34AM
G4 had one of the MS reps on and sayed its muti plat
Joe @ Jun 11th 2009 10:08AM
The story looks good but the graphics don't seem too impressive compared to Portable Ops - could just be the trailer quality though.
