I was hoping for a return to the Wind Waker art style. Oh well. Twilight Princess was just so boring looking. The art design was really uninspired.

If they had shown even a smidge of this Zelda at their press conference they would have completely stole the show with the classic Nintendo trifecta (Mario, Metroid, Zelda). A new Pikmin (which REALLY needs to get made) would have just been icing on the cake.

They're probably not talking about it too much because, to start, the way this article talks about it makes me think they still have some crucial game design choices to make before they feel comfortable showing it off (Ex: no confirmation of Wii motion plus support). Plus, there is probably a business related reason. What people sometimes forget is that E3 is not only around for the company's to show off to the fans. It's also for the retailers, developers, etc.

Zelda didn't earn a spot in the keyunote?

WTF!!!

Zelda shoulda HAVE BEEN the fucking keynote.
If shiggy had walked out and hyped the new zelda to high hells, even without a single pic they would have got a world wide standing ovation.

But your telling me that mystery book-games for and I.P. i have never heard of did earn a spot in the keynote?

Man im glad im ion the MS camp now.

The MS camp? Are you serious? *eyeroll*
Fanboyism is so fucking stupid... They are all BUSINESSES. They want your MONEY. In the end they are always going to do what is best for their business, not necessarily what the fans want. I can understand loving or hating a particular product, but a company is not always going to give your exactly what YOU want. That's not how they work. They don't cater to individuals so everyone needs to get over this fanboy crap (as if that'll ever happen).

Zelda is just a TAD bigger than Pikmin... I'd say that if they were willing to talk about it now, we'll see more details by the end of the year, and maybe a release in late late 2010.

Twilight Princess was utterly flawless after you got past the stupid being a wolf collecting little lights part. After that I was in awe of the game throughout. I hope the new one is as dark and grim, and hell it could even have the wolf but i DO NOT want to go pick up 50 stupid lights again.

Tired of all his "Hya!"s and "Aaaaugh!"s?! Well, listen to over 10 new voices! Including "Dang-nabit!", "Back in my days!" and "I ain't payin you rupees for cuttin my lawn with a sword!".

Featuring Ol' man Gannon and his castle-turned-retirement home!

And don't you worry ladies, cause Zelda is back and knitting more than ever!

Watch out Summer of 2010! The Triforce is wheelchairing its way back into your homes!

Well, maybe by "more mature link" he means one that can talk. Or something. I mean, it is 2009 after all, not 1989 still.

@Vcize: I don't think they could find a voice that would fit enough fans' conception of Link and there would be mass panic and uproar. We've had Link so long as a character, I'm sure every fan has their own voice for him by now.

Hearing an official "Link" voice for the first time will probably send me into cardiac arrest. Kind of like when I watched the Harry Potter movies after reading the books (though I do like the movies).

A more mature LInk? Isn't he already an adult in Twilight Princess? And besides, I'd rather play with Link as a kid again. All my favourite Zelda games have been the ones where he is a kid.

I'm one of those guys who enjoys each Zelda iteration but fails to see what's so special about them when compared with games each year that end up just as good, but with twice as much ambition (and as a result, a fresher feeling than what you get from playing a game that has been largely unchanged since the N64 days). I'll probably end up buying the next one, too, but unless Nintendo takes a new direction with the gameplay, I don't know if I can be excited for it. Played OoT, it was great. Played MM and WW, they managed to impress me on their art directions, which kept me chugging through despite the fact that they played mostly the same. Twilight Princess, I beat, simply out of principle - I don't leave a game unbeaten - but, even with the Twilight world, it didn't have the flair or the fresh feeling the two before it did. I want to see something even bigger than the transition from OoT to MM or MM to WW. I wanna see something that'll reinvigorate my love for the franchise. Even if I don't, I'll likely still buy it, but I won't be happy about it, no sir

It would be a mistake to not implement their own hand made peripheral into one of their own games. It would also be a good idea for a difficulty setting. That way anyone can play the game, going by Nintendo's set laws.

Quite the opposite actually. After the N64, playstation had given me a taste of what games could be so i switched to them but I still had a little respect for ninty. This generation they shat all over it, and I guess I didn't take that very well.

It doesn't matter what Nintendo would have shown, tmac would have put on his piously false Nintendo-broke-my-heart robes and bitched about how disappointed he was no matter what. That's the problem with people that started gaming with the PS1. They don't understand that pretty much everything Sony has was at one point heavily borrowed, bought out or straight up stolen from Nintendo. Which is why it's so satisfying to see Microsoft slapping Sony around like the bitch it is.

Yeah, for the last time my first system was a NES which promptly overheated and caught fire one day after I came home from school.

And yes, it takes a LOT to impress me specially from Nintendo. Showing 2 games is simply not enough, I don't care if it's mario and metroid, it's...not...enough. I would have been pissed if Microsoft showed Alan Wake and Splinter Cell and then nothing. Same thing with Sony if they just showed Uncharted 2 and God of War 3 then went with casual shit the rest of the way.

You nintendo fanboys desperately need to raise your standards, or years like last and this are just going to keep happening.

Did it burn down your house and kill your family? Is that why you carry such unbridled Nintendo hate? Here's the thing, dude. Nintendo mostly shows games that Nintendo makes. Do you get that yet? Sony and Microsoft don't have the same first-party clout that Nintendo does and so they rely more heavily on their third-party stuff. How much of what was shown at Sony and Microsoft's conferences was first-party? Not much, punkin. Just the Me Too motion stuff, really. So I'd say that 2 big games is pretty damn impressive. If you have any sense, you'd agree.
