My two cents: I hope the new Zelda is cell-shaded but not cartoonish, more open than recent Zelda games, motion plus, and incorporates some serious new gameplay twists without trying to ditch the whole Zelda formula (I love the formula. It's like the comfort food of gaming lol).

...But that's not what I came here to say. Believe it or not, I actually created an account right now just to tell Velsar what a self-absorbed dweeb he is for posting something, then reposting it twice in one post, then "correcting" his error by reposting it again immediately after.

Are you effing serious??

It really bothers me when someone thinks their opinion is so much more valuable than everyone else's that they wanna devote several times as much screen real estate to it.

You're the online equivalent of people who shout during group discussions, one step removed from mouth-breathers who type in ALL CAPS.

Also, for every word you used incorrectly, you used at least two words so awkwardly that it might as well have been incorrect. You're post isn't the gift to gaming kind that you thought it was buddy.

Sorry to be mean, but I doubt my criticism will make dent in your arrogance anyway.

The thing is, most of you are brainwashed by reviews. If a reviewer says TP was too much like OoT, you go around saying that and make that ruin the game or you.

If some game exclusive to your console came out and some reviewer said it has great "celluar anti-memory clipping" or something like that, those people would be going around bragging about that to people with other consoles.

I have only done this three times beore and TP was one of those times. I knew it was going to be a great game so I bought it right when it came out and did not look at a single review until after I beat it because I wanted it to be a pure experience and I did not want to be bothered by what IGN or GameTrailers or any other reviewer said.

I suggest other people try the same at least once, find a new game from a series you really like, and buy the game without reading any reviews and not trying to make mental notes of all its flaws. It makes games much more fun.

I think it's possible this new Zelda could come out late 2010. I heard Nintendo have been working on it since 2006-2007, right after Twilight Princess (because that was made a lot earlier than it was released), and it usually takes a good three or so years to make a Zelda game. I also heard that Nintendo DIDN'T want to give away too much at this year's E3 and a demo or anything else, because they didn't want to spend their time creating a demo when they could use that time to focus on the title and developing it more. So just because we haven't heard much, which we don't usually anyway, doesn't mean it's still early in development, especially after how long it's been in development for.

Also, I forgot to mention, a lot of people are saying that the girl in the artwork remarkably resembles the Master Sword than a Zora, and the fact that Link is not holding any sword in the concept art makes this a little more believable. Signs that she could be perhaps a personification of the sword are her colouration; she has a Triforce image on her forehead, a jewel on her chest like that of the hilt; her cloak looks a lot like the 'wings' on the cross-guard; and the base of the blade under these wings looks very similar to the end of her dress.

This makes me think too much of Twilight Princess. While I thought the game was good and enjoyed it, the idea that your sword could suddenly come to life and start talking to you just like Midna with your shadow kinda puts me off.

I'm gonna have to say Wind Waker was the best Zelda game. It was just so spectacular. I have great memories with that game.

OK, I have been reading this thread and I just had to post

@ spitfire, your analysis is spot on to what I have been reading. Many people have said that the girl in the image is a personified image of what the Master Sword looks like, and imo it does.

I loved TP, I thought it was fun and entertaining (which is what a game is supposed to be) and I liked the refreshing look of Link and Hyrule Castle Town, Zora's Domain, etc...

I do agree with most of you that I felt there was SOMETHING lacking, I do not know WHAT it was but there was something.

I don't recall who the poster was that said they need to go back to the musical score to that of OoT, but I agree. The Forest Temple music still haunts me (I just rebeat OoT for the 55th time last week, been replaying that game ever so often since release) And in general that music was awesome. I loved the throwbacks they had in TP with the Zora revamped music here and there, although I wish they had a gerudo valley theme back in there.

Also to those that don't remember or never knew, TP was SUPPOSED to be a Gamecube release, they halted it for the Wii, so thats why the graphics were not "omg!" and the stuff was eh. When they make this game Strictly for Wii, the potential is out there. I want it to be darker, I want there to be blood and I want the fights to be made so you have to lose, that way when you win it is that much more satisfying. I want the odds stacked against us, I want there to be 5 or 6 adds and a boss. I want the iron knuckles to take 6 hearts instead of 4..etc.

Also I would love a fight where its just a ton of mobs, be it one shottable or not, and you just run through firing your bow and arrow and you gotta do whatever to get by them. They have a real shot at taking this series in a new refreshing way, not "lets save the princess and hyrule from ganon and _____" (fill in the blank with what you want)

A story line akin to MM would be nice, but then again a little too crooked.

This is my 2 copper and my wall of text, enjoy!

I also agree w/Saria (sweet name, btw) in that they can't do voice acting for Link or Zelda, b/c people have their own ideas for what they'd sound like. that's one reason I've always been against a live-action movie while many folks I know would want one.

Anyway, I don't want some grim dark Zelda. As much as I LOVED MM, OoT, and yes, TP, my favorites were the original Legend of Zelda and Link to the Past (and Minish Cap, etc on the handhelds). Wind Waker was fantastic and shows that you don't have to be all dark and gritty to make an excellent game; too "mature" would be bad for the franchise.

I do think a better TP/OoT/MM style Zelda would be perfect if they added a "second quest" a la LoZ or a Master Quest-esque mode to satisfy those of us whose Zelda games have been getting steadily easier since the original LoZ and AoL

if they are saying link is going to be getting old in the next ever game after 2010 wont he be like in his 20's because i would much rather see link in his teens 16-18 then a man. cus teens just seems so much more hmmm young and alive and i dont know =]

i would also not like a voice over for link but i wouldnt mind textbox speech like how the other characters talk. if link spoke and i didnt liket the voice i would be so put of but of... but if it was a good voice i would love it but its 50/50 they can get the voice right or wrong

everyone saying that tp wasnt a good game i loved that game and i still play it. link looks so much more older in that game and you feel more apart of it where as the other games was not as much cut scenes and i didnt get attached to him or any othe player
