Nintendo announces Flipnote Studios for DSi this summer

One of the more cool apps for the Nintendo DSi in Japan has been Moving Memo Pad, and now Nintendo has confirmed it for a North American release. The title will be changing its name, however, to Flipnote Studios. The app will come to North America largely unchanged, allowing folks to create and upload their own custom animations and share them with others.

Great for people trying to make their own porn.

So annoying if they don't give any specific date for the apps/games.

Artists will definitely be interested in this.

I'm actually an animator myself. I think I'd probably get a kick out of fiddling with this. Looks heaps like "easytoon" which is a freeware pixel based animation software package. Can only create basic content though, but its still entertaining to fiddle with. I doubt I'll be getting a DSi though, nor would I want to try drawing on a cramped little screen when I'm use to using a CINTIQ haha. I'm sure some great stuff will come out of this application though.
