The new PSP sounds like a no go at least for me. I mean it looks nice and everything but i cant really see myself buying games i already own on UMD just so i can play it on a new model. That and the fact its going to cost 250 serious at that price they might as well just have released a psp2 with a second analog stick and sd card slot for games or other media.

What about people without a Internet connection?
How will they play games on PSP Go?

On PSP Go? Simple: They won't.

They'll buy the PSP-3000 & buy games on UMD to play on.

Next!

The psp go might just be the dumbest thing sony has ever made. A 16 gig hardrive isnt worth 250 dollars at all....If they would have made the Go cheaper, more people would buy it and hopefully ( if they fixed the problem) elimate the serious hacking problem. For 250 you could buy an xbox 360...........psp go lick my balls

1-handed play will be greatly appreciated for me. I usually play RPGs/turn-based stuff, so it's good to be able to keep playing while I'm doing other things (seeing as this is a handheld device)

"there's still only one analog stick."

Maybe because its still a PSP? We're not at the second generation of PSP's yet.

I don't understand the fascination with the touch screen. Why do people want this to have a touch screen? Not only would the touch screen drive up the cost, it would age more fragility to an already fragile device. Not only that, but adding a responsive touchscreen is an expensive undertaking. The screen would, like all touch screens, lose sensitivity over time. I'm tired of touchscreens. I'm tired of having to be even more careful, of dealing with fingerprints, and getting frustrated when they don't respond.

FFFFFFF~
Why is Sony still using the same scratch and pressure mark-prone plastic for the screen???

I was really looking forward to the Go! for this reason alone, now they have crushed my dreams of owning a PSP longer than 6 months. >:C

Sony.. sony.. stick with what you have.. especially in this economy? can we afford anymore blunders?

I am a huge sony fangirl... celly.. tv.. every playstation... etc.

this is not on my list.

I prefer physical video games.. UMD I liked.. taking it out that cheap plastic case and having a psp where you slide the game in.. or it is sucked in like the wii and ps3 take in discs would have been better methinks.

Isn't the screen also smaller? My hands cramp up after a few hours of play with a game that involves intense analog stick using... I can't imagine how this little crap will feel after ten minutes. Also reminds me of a cheap slider phone.

Bit unrelated but why is that FF7 here is 1.3 and in Japan the size is 1.7 gigs? I'm hoping we're not missing any content....but something is telling me I'm wrong in doing so.

Also, I'm really disappointed with the PSP GO. It's great that Sony is targeting and offering different forms of the PSP for a multitude of audiences but my main problem is- other than the obvious redundancy with its name and no notable improvements whatsoever- is that it ditched the memory stick duo. This is the biggest factor alienating their current supporters, imo.

I would get this, but I spent nearly 100$ getting a 32- really only about 29-gig 2x micro SD converter. The space is great, 10 movies, 2 full shows, 11 games, a perplex amount of songs and still 14 gigs to spare. I would get a PSP GO just to have a total of 45 gigs total, but with this if I switched I would gain no space at all.

Not worth it for a mere redesign, real disappointment. I don't give a shit about blue tooth, which seemingly is all this really gained.

My question about the whole digital distribution is that won't it make games basically region coded with actually being so. Let me explain, although I love localized games that i can understand, there are always games that come out in either Japan or Europe (English ver. of B.O.F. III and Tales of Eternia) that really interest me. But taking the current PSN as it is, I doubt it would ever showcase import games. And I know some people will argue that any game worth getting would get translated eventually, but gosh darn I love those games that American companies consider too-crazy-for-westerners. I guess i just want the freedom to play an import game without having to resort to hacking my psp or whatever.

I have no idea why people keep insisting there is going to be a PSP2. If there is it's not going to be for a very long time, if at all. Frankly Sony is going to release the PSP2 only when Nintendo decides to release DS2, which, if you look at the sales figures, will probably never happen since there is no pressure for Nintendo to do so. Nintendo will be happy to release minor updates, i.e. DS, DS Lite, DSi, etc. whenever one appears to become stagnant in sales. And so far it's been working.

Think about it - developers have a hard enough time already justifying why they should develop for PSP. The PSP2 would have updated visuals, processing power, speed, etc., which would equal to double or more the developmental costs for any game, but still sell for, at the most, exactly the same price as today's PSP titles. That sounds like a losing proposition to me. Furthermore, the graphics on PSP already destroy whatever the DS can ever hope to do. So as long as Nintendo keeps rehashing the DS, Sony will keep rehashing the PSP since there's no pressure on Sony to release anything more powerful. We haven't even reached the PSP's full graphical power yet either - look at the upcoming Tekken, Soul Calibur, Gran Turismo. Graphics will continue to improve as developers get more used to making games for the system, although I feel that ports are here to stay.
