Reality check: Super Mario Galaxy 2, Metroid: Other M not due 'til 2010

Nintendo's newly announced sojourns into space, Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Metroid: Other M, are already sending avid Wii fans into convulsive seizures of glee (gleezures, if you will). Though it's the kind of behavior that blends well with the bustling E3 crowds, it's rarely professional for those of us trying to do work. As a preventative measure, we've etched the tragic facts of Nintendo's release schedule into our minds, bringing us down to earth from the galactic highs offered by Mario and Samus' returns.

They're currently not due until 2010. Gleezure contained.

I wouldn't be surprised if they don't. He could just be talking about NSMB Wii tonight. We never had any sort of confirmation there was going to be anything even remotely relating to the Pikmin series, there wasn't even a rumor. It was all just wishful thinking.

I'm not saying it's impossible, but unlikely.

Don't forget about the Retro game too. I get the feeling that it's not over just yet...

As for SMG2 and M:OM being released in 2010... I'm sure most people assumed that already.

What Retro game? The one mentioned in the Twitter feed that was pretty much confirmed fake?

I mean I'd love to see an announcement from them, but... don't want to get my hopes up.

I am very excited to see both SMG2 and a New Metriod and cant wait to play them in 2010. its a change for Nintendo to show us games that wont be released for a year or more and wet our appetite. This is something Nintendo has not been doing in the last few years, instead choosing to not disclose any information about projects until they are mostly done and have a set release date.

Well, techincally, we already did.

We got Twilight Princess, Prime 3, and Galaxy in a one year span back in 2006-7. Not to mention Phantom Hourglass, so 2 Zeldas, Metroid, and Mario in a one year span.

Damn you Nintendo, just kiddin Can't wait for SMG2 The first is still my favorite game on Wii,New Super Mario Bros.Wii, Metroid: Other M and 2010 Zelda. The Trinity will happen all in one year. Thankful to still be a Nintendo Fan all these years. I'm tired of the so-called crybabies no zelda wah wah wah, Spirit Tracks is a Zelda Game and I still play TP even though Ocarina is still my favorite Zelda. Nintendo give gamers what they wanted this year and yet they still bitch. is it me or do most so called hardcore gamers cry more than my ex girlfriend when something is different. Let Nintendo do Nintendo besides in 2009 Nintendo has a lot of executives on both DS and Wii enjoy the games you have and the ones you end up purchasing. I'm playing Punch Out, SSSB, Madworld, HOTD:Overkill, & GHWT and of course the VC and Wiiware and my DS games got new life now I got a DSi. I'm just tired of ppl saying Nintendo isn't hardcore. I'm 30 and to be honest Nintendo never was hardcore it appealed to everyone back in the NES days. Now that the Wii and DS are played by Non-Gamers then everyone else wanna bitch about something I think it's stupid. I'm interresting in the Vital Sensor and Wii Fit Plus to and I'm not a fanboy so i'm ready for God of War 3 and Uncharted when I buy a PS3 to sit by my Favortive console this gen The Wii. Xbox 360 isn't bad but it's not for me besides I had 3 of them and they all crapped out. Nintendo was is and always will my favorite since I've been with them since the NES, SNES, all the game boys, N64, Gamecube, DS and Wii so I'm pleased with this year E3 Nintendo did it's job Have a happy gaming time in 2009 and the trinity is coming just be patience my fellow gamers in 2010 we will get Mario Galaxy 2, Metroid:Other M, and Zelda

well said brother. im just a fan that happens to love nintendo BUT i dont bitch and hate on other consoles..i just look and be amazed. WE'RE GAMERS PEOPLE! we should look at everything w/an open mind mind and not take the time out of our day to write something immature on these sites...but hey its the internet; ur anomyous and can say anything u like without no one knowing who u are thats the beauty of it! did i just contradict myself?
