I don't understand why everybody is complaining about the price point when there is a 16GB ipod touch in this world that cost 300 dollars... this thing is basically the samething minus the touch screen

CaramelZappa and others that will be

250 for the system
30-40 for the new game
20 for the new case
20-30 for the excpansion memory card
tax

and i know i must be missing something else here that is a lot for a 3000+ psp system isn't it.

I'll wait till it's hacked. :D Be nice to have my backup PS1 games on and PSP games. UMD's suck to carry around. I have broken a few from just carrying in my pockets so this just seems more sensible.

Well I WAS going to buy one, but that was when I was assuming it'd be close to the price of a current PSP. I'm not spending $250 on a handheld. Sony really hasn't learned their lesson about pricing.

There's NO way the pricing would be similar to PSP 3000, considering the 16GB of flash memory. That was an unrealistic expectation. I would love on board storage, one of the things I hate most about my PSP is swapping my 4GB memory cards.

And will people please stop bitching about the fact that it only has one control stick and there's only one screen and there's no touch screen and all this crap? It's not a PSP2. They're not going to do anything to limit compatibility with other PSP models.

Adding features doesn't keep it from being backwards compatible. You can play any GBA game on the DS, even though the DS has a touch screen and 2 screens and stuff. They could easily add that stuff and still have it be compatible with older PSP titles. You can still control 1 stick games that use with 2 sticks (hint: don't use the second stick)

Psst. You can't design a game around a handheld with two sticks and have it work on a handheld with one stick.

Ok stop the press 1 second. No UMD drive right? So if you have UMD games, you can't play them on that thing right?

how stupid is that? Any plans on being able to transfer/install UMD games to the PSP go without having to buy them off online?

I wanted to hear more about how people can bring their old UMD games onto the Go. I read somewhere that there might be transfer kiosks or something along those lines. They've gotta give an option to people who own 10 or 20 UMDs and want to move toward PSP Go.

The device is very nice, but I agree, it is very expensive. And it's a smaller screen. If it was like $200, I can live with that. Still, I really like that it's not replacing the current PSPs.

Sony just LOVES to price most people out of the market. Still not biting on a PS3 because they haven't even come close to a sweet price point, and now this? No wonder they posted a huge loss this year.

Sony is considered a premium brand since it is the largest established Japanese brands that produces many different products.

As good as Samsungs are, Sony T.V.'s are always more expensive because the perception that Korean is less quality (which isn't true) but at face value, it is to most unknowing consumers.

No thanks. With the smaller, possible worse design, plus that big price tag, I think I'll stay with my PSP-1000 model till it breaks. And when that happens, I'll just buy a 3000 model, way cheaper.

I agree. I think the digital verison of the g ames will be cheaper. For example, little big planet might cost 30 dollar digital while the retail version cost $40. You will save 10 dollars. In the long run, the psp go will save you a lot of money. Now, of course, we would have to wait and see if what I say is true.

With touch you may get everything that PSP has and more, but you also get Apple DRM, iTunes and the whole enchileda. There's a reason I haven't bought an iPod, and never will.

I don't have to have a media manager or even a sony PSN account to do anything with my PSP, put my own movies and music and all that on it. But with iPods you have to have iTunes-or-die.

I want the PSP Go. Its gonna be my next mp3 player!

Can't wait.

I don't think $250.00 is all that much for the amount of functionality included on the PSP platform.

I just hope the thing is solid (construction-wise) and that the battery life is sufficient.
