Tatsunoko vs Capcom gets online play, 5 new characters for North America [update]

Update: Capcom sent out a release the following day, redacting the mention of online play and five new characters. Did someone at Capcom jump the gun?

The release of Tatsunoko vs Capcom in North America will change a bit from its Japanese counterpart, Capcom has announced. The North American release eliminates one character from the Tatsunoko side of the roster and adds five new fighters not found in the original game. Not only that, but the North American version of the game will also have online play, a feature the original Japanese release cannot boast.

Hey, Desert Eagle, spare this game from E.M. disruptors, for once.

It could be worser Tim. I could have mentioned Cable, but I don't want this game to become an eternal Viper Beam/AHVB fest. ;)

Chuck Norris, Winnie the Pooh, Hypnotoad, Goku, and Batman

I'm going to guess, if they want to get more name recognition, they'll get rid of the Ken the Eagle and add in Akuma, Guile, M. Bison, Dan, and the Servbots

I'd actually prefer Zero far more than the Servbots to be in this game. Really, it's time he takes the spotlight in a fighting game, and one as good as this.

And hell yeah! Bring Dan! He's fun to play as when you are bored of the characters in the game and want to try out your luck on beating the game with someone as bad as him (unless you know how to use it, which if you do, he actually becomes pretty decent).

Desert Eagle: You can play as Zero in SNK Vs Capcom~ But he's basically unrecognisable =/

Sairus: That's the incarnation of Zero from the Mega Man Zero series, on the GBA. X series Zero definitely needs to make an appearance, though.

Is it just me, or does it feel like fighting games are boring now, and I'm in the mood for something... different?... Naruto Ninja Storm was an interesting refresh but ehh a few others were also good, but I'm so sick of fighting.... maybe if it was like a co-op fight or a 4 player FFA type fight, or something a long those lines... maybe, who knows... but 1 on 1 fighting and the stories that follow is just so... repetitive...

Excuse me, Velsar? You must have played too much Tekken or Soul Calibur, because games like Guilty Gear and BlazBlue are just freakin' amazing.

In my opinion, fighting games are still as fun as ever. There are just really good ones, and really bad ones.... but really, out of all the genres, fighting is still very strong to what it was in its past...

I would like a Star Gladiator remake though...

The way the other consoles are flooded with dystopian sandboxes and brown-gray shooters, a fight game is different!

What exactly is Tatsunoko?

A Japanese animation company. They did what's known in the States as Battle of the Planets.

And Speed Racer, I think.

You need to do your research, from your PSN you are a anime fan right. Anime fan usually do research and I myself, a big fan of anime always do my research.

Dragon ranger vs Kamen rider (the one we got as masked rider anyway)... that would be awesome.

It's too bad that they aren't Tatsunoko charcters.

Don't worry it's Hakkushon Daimao that got the boot (well presumably, as he's the only character not shown in the trailer/screenshots)

I hope so, because I couldn't stand him. I saw Karas and others in there that I like, as long as Karas, Casshern and that guy with the crazy ass combo system stay, I'm glad.

That's odd, I don't think that Hakushon Daimaou ever came out in the US. Some one must have bought the license for an extended period of time and never did anything with it.

I really hope Ken and Jun are both still in there (I could live w/o Daimao or even Polymar, but not them please!!).

For the Tatsunoku side I would add Soultaker and Komugi and I hope Daimao is the one that gets lost in the shuffle cause I hated that character. Dante, Strider and Mike Haggar would be awesome additions for the Capcom side.
