Please no juvenile crazy boob physics. The massive jugs that Team Ninja always comes up with totally wouldn't fit the character. Samus is a cold-blooded bounty hunter not a swinsuit model. Hopefully Nintendo keeps Ninja in check and keeps the game more mature than that.

At ~1:20, there's totally the Omega mother brain from super metroid, hitting samus up with an Omega beam.
So we've got a young Samus, a live Adam, an older Samus, space pirates, Zebes and Sr-388 (Judging from the enemies. It almost looks like an Omega metroid from Metroid 2 at 0:57).
So I'm being led to believe that we're not neccasarily looking at a continuation of the story, due to lack of Fusion suit, but some time later in the plotline, with flashbacks to before the first metroid.
Maybeh.

I'm not sure how I feel about this. On one hand I like the idea of a new Metroid game, but on the other... Team Ninja? Really? Given they're track record, they're going to turn Samus into a sex symbol, and that's not what the character is about.

This just looks amazing, but now I have to wonder what's Retro doing these days?
If they're not working on Metroid (although they may be doing some consulting on it) they've got to be making something else, and my gut says whatever it is, will be good. cue speculation

I so did not see this coming.. I found galaxy took 3D Mario and brought it back just a little towards its faster paced 2D roots.. I have a feeling this is going to be the same.

Retro is putting out Metroid Prime Trilogy. porting the first two primes to the wii. they also have a scheduled E3 announcement.

I don't care if the biggest thing is samus talking, because it sucked so hard that she didn't. I mean, we know she does (look at all of the old metroid games, notably fusion), and we know Jennifer Hale is up to the task (look at mass effect). Metroiiidd!

I'm stoked. I loved the Prime trilogy but also felt that it was time the series take a fresh direction. I have faith in Team Ninja to put out an excellent product and rest assured Nintendo will have their eyes and hands on the development process as well.
I have no problem with Samus speaking - in Fusion she 'spoke' quite a bit through the cut scenes. Staying with the Fusion theme - in the vid for Other M you hear her referred to as 'Lady' which means that her commander Adam Malkovich will be in the game.
If any series deserves the next gen treatment it's Metroid and hopefully TN can push the Wii visually, although Prime 3 was no slouch. I love the mix up in gameplay styles; first person was great but there something about seeing her in action that is just awesome.
Looks like the Wii lineup will be better than I anticipated (some will remember I've been hard on the Wii lately) but with Silent Hill, Muramasa and Dead Space I should be pretty sated this Holiday. Is the side scrolling Mario '09 or '10?
