Avalook at James Cameron's Avatar

We thought the shot of winged beasts attacking the human gunship looked a little ... Halo; then we saw the

The Lost Jurassic Park: Combat Evolved 2: The Legend of Curly's Gold
Young_Nastyman @ Jun 2nd 2009 8:00AM
that looks very polished and interesting
MrGutts @ Jun 2nd 2009 8:01AM
Looks like art work, any in game footage or in game screen shots? This one of those games to come out in 2011?
ottoman673 @ Jun 2nd 2009 8:08AM
They could've shown this at Ubi's presser and not bored me nearly to death.
MystileArmor @ Jun 2nd 2009 9:33AM
You mean instead of James Cameron spoiling his own movie?
Duke @ Jun 2nd 2009 10:23AM
Yeah was that one long and painful press conference or what? He just seemed to be up there babbling.
As far as the pics, it looks interesting but the fact there are no Ewoks really stands out.
Pureshooter @ Jun 2nd 2009 8:14AM
Halo Dragoon Orta
Kdiggy @ Jun 2nd 2009 8:17AM
I think they were waiting to show this at Sony's show. The game features stereoscopic 3D. Remember those rumors from a while ago that Sony was working on 3D glasses?
Duke @ Jun 2nd 2009 10:26AM
I don't remember it being a PS exclusive. I also don't think that its 3D is dependent on anyone's hardware.
Neptune @ Jun 2nd 2009 10:40AM
@ Duke
IIRC the didn't say which platform(s) it will be released. But I think Sony is so far the only console manufactor that has publicly shown the tech running.
But we shall see.
Neptune @ Jun 2nd 2009 10:46AM
I take that back.
"He noted that Ubisoft, which is making the game version of Avatar, already has a stereoscopic game up and running using a standard Xbox 360 and 3D glasses. "

Duke @ Jun 2nd 2009 11:28AM
"Cameron said that displays for laptops, phones, and Zunes can be made stereoscopic even without needing special glasses."
There's something I've never heard before.
Kdiggy @ Jun 2nd 2009 11:43AM
Yeah, I didn't think it was an exclusive, maybe just the 3D aspect of it. That's interesting that it could be displayed without the glasses though. Thanks for the info.
cheese @ Jun 2nd 2009 8:20AM
Looks good, but the dropship seems a bit formulaic, like he's trying to bring back his dropship from Aliens. I would have went for a different design. Looks cool otherwise.
T-Bag @ Jun 2nd 2009 8:28AM
So we've reached the stage in our evolution where we can travel through great distances in space and alter our genome to benefit us when needed, and yet we're having a hard time with a couple bipedal cows?
Sounds plausible.
Sion @ Jun 2nd 2009 8:32AM
Avalook at Avatar, Haaaa. funny.........
incubeezer @ Jun 2nd 2009 10:43AM
That title fucked with my dyslexia.
Storm Eagle @ Jun 2nd 2009 8:44AM
I know it's James Cameron, but did anyone else think he talked just a smiiiidge too much during the Ubisoft Press Conference?
umm....hello??? @ Jun 2nd 2009 9:17AM
I miss James Cameron ever since his work on Terminator 2. This project looks like it should kick ass. But I don't know if I'll ever forgive him for leaving the Terminator franchise up to the idiot that concocted Terminator 3.
Cellien @ Jun 2nd 2009 10:31AM
At least T4 was better... But yeah, I wish Cameron stayed with Terminator.
Loki_d20 @ Jun 2nd 2009 9:27AM
I'm unfamiliar with the vehicles/creatures in the Halo series, but it doesn't look bad. I luckily was able to fast forward most of his speech thanks to recording the event on G4.
mobius006 @ Jun 2nd 2009 9:40AM
hmmm, id say you kinda got this wrong, since halo looks a little like aliens to me.... go back farther :)
Sidebuster @ Jun 2nd 2009 10:03AM
At least he is excited about his project (which is why I believe he talked on for so long). He seemed as if he was pitching his movie for the first time to get funding.
@Storm Eagle
The WHOLE Ubisoft keynote was way too long. That Pele (no idea who that is) guy, the kidz stuff, some other stuff I don't remember (oh yeah red steel 2). And then about 3 seconds of Assasins Creed2thanksfrocomingbye at the end.
j.howlett @ Jun 2nd 2009 10:11AM
i was riveted and bored to tears at the same time when he was talking about this. i was like sounds cool. gonna show something? no? ok. still talking? maybe i'll see something. no? i wanted to change the channel but didn't want to miss anything.
Manly Mcbeefington (Mr. ESC) @ Jun 2nd 2009 11:10AM
Huh it does looks a bit like Halo.I hope REACH looks like this.
yo Naturale @ Jun 2nd 2009 2:04PM
To be fair, Halo's UNSC Marines borrowed A LOT from Cameron's Colonial Marines in 'Aliens'.
