It's funny how Velstar used Linkin Park as an example of the standard hip hop supposedly can't live up to. The MAJORITY of hip hop acts (believe it or not) rap about some of the same things Linkin Park rap/sing about. The problem isn't rap as an art form, it's media as an outlet. I have 100s of gbs of hip hop on my PC and a MINORITY of it is "ignorant" rap.

The only ignorance I see in this discussion is people's lack of ability to judge a CULTURE outside of what's displayed on MTV & radio. I don't pay attention to either and I'm exposed to nothing but good music. It wouldn't be fair for me to make a sweeping judgment on a particular genre of music based solely on what I see on TV or hear on radio.

I'm black, born in '81, and my preference in the 80s was hair metal, believe it or not. It took Public Enemy, Eric B. & Rakim, and Big Daddy Kane to convert me over to hip hop for good. I still listened to rock in the 90s but only the commercial acts. I could have easily said that rock is nothing more than heroin music. I mean, every act I saw on TV had a lead singer who either OD'ed, actively using, or was suicidal. I knew better though. It's a shame many others don't.

How the hell can you compare tracklists??? Weve only heard about 7 tracks. I could swear some of you post shit up just for the sake of hating on something you "think" you hate.

When "Rap" makes me think about my life, like Linkin Park did, or some other songs have, and relates to me in some manner, that isn't full of immaturity and idiocy, then fine I'll accept it as ACCEPTABLE, but until then, don't hold your breath, as I won't hold mine...ok r u kidding...did u realy just name a group who credits most of their inspiration as rap sources...please stop showing ur ignorance to a genre...it would be just as easy to say about any other style of music...out of tune singing about a love gone bad, drinking or wut is done on a ranch is hardly art...see wut i did there...n country is a viable musical style...

I like Flo Rida's music! His new album is pretty good in my opinion! I don't know why they HAVE to go with hit singles, but hey, as long as they put Tech N9ne and Living Legends on there, I'm good.

They'd probably make more money, if they came out with "Drive-by Hero"...

"While the game hits a woefully underserved demographic with the rap/hip-hop community" That really sounds racist to me, why are you trying to say my people are a undeserved demographic. This is why I'm glad Obama was elected for president.
