AMAZING! AWESOME! BADASS! GOTY 2009 OR WHENEVER THE HELL IT COMES OUT!
*ahem* now let me go and watch the video.
Sly, King of the First Isle of inFamous [PSN SniperChameleon] @ Jun 2nd 2009 2:45AM
the graphics are really good especially for a game in development.
Lao Boy @ Jun 2nd 2009 2:44AM
Badass: The Game, is right.
NaeemTHM @ Jun 2nd 2009 4:32AM
Seriously! It's like 24 the Game only you know.....good.
Sweet merciful crap Splinter Cell. Welcome to the top spot on my most anticipated games list.
Amirisme @ Jun 2nd 2009 4:49AM
sold at 'badass'
The Baron @ Jun 2nd 2009 6:52AM
Yeah, I was really worried by the announcement that conviction would be more actioney (being a massive fan of the original three), but this looks great!
blacktrogdor @ Jun 2nd 2009 2:48AM
Looks really sweet......lets hope it comes thru tho in terms of gameplay
Blaggers @ Jun 2nd 2009 2:49AM
"Sam has changed. This time, it's personal" The Hollywood film trailer voice guy has really gone downhill lately,
chispito @ Jun 2nd 2009 4:48AM

Cena @ Jun 2nd 2009 2:51AM
This game has me so excited, it's not even funny. I cannot wait.
WREturns @ Jun 2nd 2009 2:51AM
Buying this.
Adriaan @ Jun 2nd 2009 2:53AM
To be perfectly honest, I'd rather have this than the new Metal Gear.
Just sayin'.
Swagman @ Jun 2nd 2009 4:10AM
I feel you buddy.
I have a PS3. I played MGS4. I tried to love that game. But I only got halfway through chapter 3, when I just could not take it anymore. The game was literally just putting me to sleep - definitely the second worse game in the MGS series, just in front of MGS2. If MGS: Rising turns out to be anything like MGS4, then I hope Kojima, just does not make it. If Kojima could make Rising inhabit all the best parts about MGS1, but truly update it to modern gaming standards, then Rising would actually be the one thing that MGS4 was not - awesome. But I do not see that happening, and would rather Kojima not make another Metal Gear game, than make another lackluster product in the series.
As for the Splinter Cell: Conviction demo. I never get tired of watching that thing in action. I watched a longer version of the demo played live at the (otherwise boring) Ubisoft press briefing last night. It was awesome. They explained a little more than in the above video, and even played the bit in the mansion slightly differently. This game is truly phenomenal, and if the actual gameplay matches up all the innovation shown in the demo, then we are looking one of the strongest contenders for game of the year 2009. The short list of GOTY contenders is already shaping up. And with the likes Uncharted 2, Killzone 2, Modern Warfare 2, BioShock 2, Assassin's Creed 2, Brutal Legend, Halo 3: ODST and Splinter Cell: Conviction, the short list is looking mighty appetizing indeed. The battle for GOTY is going to be neck and neck this year, and we the gaming fans are going to be the big winners.
Adriaan @ Jun 2nd 2009 4:13AM
Glad to see I'm not the only one who found MGS4 to be a bit of a bore. A lot of great ideas that just didn't spark a whole lot of interest in me. The story was fantastic, but the environments were pretty uninspired to me. It felt like a "because we have to" sequel.
NaeemTHM @ Jun 2nd 2009 4:35AM
I agree with you guys, but only because we know squat about MGS: Rising. Though it's going to be a fucking hard to top that. And I mean damn near impossible. I can't believe how many amazing gameplay elements they've crammed into Conviction.
Snowblind @ Jun 2nd 2009 5:33AM
MGS4 gets a lot better after chapter 3, you should really try to push on. The final two chapters are amazing.. although I agree, up to that point the game is very boring.
But more importantly, the gameplay in MGS4 is very lacking. The controls are clunky and the stealth is very monotonous. I've never really played any of the Splinter Cell games, but I can definitely understand why the MGS series might be moving away from stealth, this series just seems to do it so much better.
Temidien @ Jun 2nd 2009 10:20AM
Have to agree with Snowblind. I'm a huge MGS fan and the first few chapters did bore me quite a bit more than I would've liked. The last few chapters plus epilogue MORE than make up for the slow start.
Deone @ Jun 2nd 2009 2:54AM
Excited.
Billy @ Jun 2nd 2009 2:59AM
Damn that looks fun :)
giantenemycrab @ Jun 2nd 2009 3:02AM
I can't wait for this, it's going to be sweet. Still can't believe it's an exclusive.
IannCannon (XBL&Steam: ianncannon. PSN: Iann Cannon) @ Jun 2nd 2009 3:02AM
Wow, I had forgotten all about this game. Looks like they redid a lot of stuff and got rid of the emo hair everyone was bitching about.
Anyways, looks like its gonna be an awesome year for the 360. I hope Sony has some good anouncements too. I don't want my ps3 to get lonely.
ThatPCgameryouhate @ Jun 2nd 2009 3:05AM
Meh.... as in AWESOME. Can't wait, played a few Splinter Cell games before, but I suck at stealth. Maybe this will help me lol.
relaxeder @ Jun 2nd 2009 3:09AM
I really like the storytelling/mission projections, they remind me of stylized credits from a movie title sequence or something.
Everything looks spectacular mostly, some of the animation transitions just need to be cleaned up. I hope they're bringing back Spies vs. Mercenaries for multiplayer too, at least as one mode... I want to see what other new things they could do too.
Nathaniel @ Jun 8th 2009 12:13AM
Agreed. The game looks wonderful, but I couldn't help but cringe at some of those animations. I'm sure that will get smoothed out before release though (I hope).
This should be able to hold me off until a new Hitman comes out :).
Ethan @ Jun 2nd 2009 3:10AM
Looks stunning, fun, thoughtful. Looking forward to it already.
jsok @ Jun 2nd 2009 3:19AM
Wow..I'm really glad I kept my 360 now...lol. Maybe this is something to get me playing anything other than sf4.
tobz1000 @ Jun 2nd 2009 3:40AM
PC? Yes! Thought I was gonna be left out then. This looks incredible.
TwistedBishop @ Jun 2nd 2009 4:00AM
"More action, more suspense, more dots -- shit! Forget that last part!"
WaveMaster @ Jun 2nd 2009 4:56AM
yes. It comes out on PC too. that's what I was hoping for :). definitely buying this
CrabBattle @ Jun 2nd 2009 6:10AM
Wow, im impressed. Wish i had a xbox, this game looks awesome.
ganrob @ Jun 2nd 2009 6:32AM
just preordered it, I'm really excited for this one. I absolutely loved Double Agent....
DaveMcRae the Haiku Artist @ Jun 2nd 2009 7:07AM
Just wow, I thought I was done with Splinter Cell after the unnecessary last few entries to the series, but KUDOS to Ubisoft for really taking the game into a new direction, this looks AMAZING.
Darkwun @ Jun 2nd 2009 8:24AM
i can actually say finally my first splinter cell game......
Mack Swift @ Jun 2nd 2009 8:29AM
Holy Frack me sideways!! I can't wait. The stylized movie-like presentation. That mark and execute stuff (a little bit of R6 Vegas), climb anything (Assassin's Creed), and the action itself (Splinter Cell, 24, and a little bit of Bourne and shake well).
Ubisoft, this this game out and make it great.
brytdavis @ Jun 2nd 2009 8:30AM
I kinda forgot about this game when it seemed like it was never going to be released. After seeing this demo/walk thru .... OMG, it looks amazing.
lunarlasso @ Jun 2nd 2009 8:32AM
I agree with snowblind (except I thought the whole mgs4 experience was great), the controls were the best by far in the mgs series but clunky (what you expect from mgs)...this conviction is pure stealth/action/shooter/puzzle heaven....i haven't been this excited for a game since metal gear 1.....i'm a bargain bin gamer....but this is a stand in line-gett'n trampled on-day 1 buy....very excited man.....very excited.....
side note: i really tried to get into chaos theory (everyone thought it was awesome), just didn't grab me....
I WANT THIS GAME NOW!!!!
OnToGloryReturns @ Jun 2nd 2009 8:58AM
Wow. Just...wow. I couldn't believe that restroom scene was gameplay at first.
Hope the multiplayer is back as well - DA's was an abomination.
Michael Ironside should voice Mario :)
Deone @ Jun 9th 2009 1:53AM
I would barely say that part was playable. Seems about like the execution scene in Double Agent. You get to walk the guy to the walls, but when you get there Sam will automatically do the interrogation tactics. In other words, it will play out the same every time you do it. So that bit seems a little bit gimmicky.
Don't get me wrong, this game seems super sick. I wonder if you will still get points taken away for using lethality and your standard gun. The marking enemies bit seems to be mostly focused on using your pistol when you bust in on them, but I like to do things without the pistol in SC games.
Erick Lorenzo @ Jun 2nd 2009 10:29AM
Damm. No multiplayer footage. I hope it is in there. Spy vs. mercs is the best dynamic in online gaming IMO.
Storm Eagle @ Jun 2nd 2009 9:50AM
I love that you don't have to be worried about the light meter and that you're a far more dangerous presence in the game now. I also hope they reinvent the Spies vs. Mercs multiplayer to make that just as good as the single player looks to be. I love the Splinter Cell franchise and I cannot wait for this game. E3 has been awesome so far.
J @ Jun 2nd 2009 10:31AM
INSTANT BONER.
uncle jesse @ Jun 2nd 2009 10:45AM
Stealth Boner!
(up-tuck... shhhhh)
4th guy @ Jun 2nd 2009 10:55AM
Yes! Splinter Cell in my country! Pity it's only just a tiny part.
C lab Cpn @ Jun 2nd 2009 11:19AM
Jack Bauer + Jason Bourne x contained sandbox environments = Splinter Cell: Awesomesauce
Doug @ Jun 2nd 2009 6:11PM
Looks fantastic, but I can't seem to see the difference between "mark and execute" and "see a bad guy and then kill him."
Guess finding out will be half the fun :)
SyChO @ Jun 2nd 2009 6:47PM
Mine, Mine, Mine!!!
Reebo @ Jun 3rd 2009 2:30AM
THEY FIXED IT! FINALLY!
robotoid @ Jun 5th 2009 3:18AM
I can not wait for this game! this looks SO MUCH FUN!
