Darksiders will ring in the new year, get demo

They also plan on releasing a demo on Xbox Live and the Playstation Network before the holiday period. "We want to remind everyone that there will be a good reason to hang onto their gift cards." Nothing says Happy New Year like Auld Lang Syne, champagne, and reaping the souls of the undead. Keep checking back for our report on the game, which is looking shiny.

So is this release date a plan to cash in on all the returned games after Christmas? If so, that's quite brilliant. Dec 26th would be an even better release date for that purpose. "Returning one Imagine Whateverz, buying one new Darksiders. Have a nice day."

That sucks - I had seen posts that the release date was August 29th.

Yeah, I'm glad someone else noticed too! I thought for a minute there I was going crazy. I know the August release date wasn't confirmed, but seeing the new date makes me a sad panda. From August to January, really? Oh well. =(

Whenever Joe Madureira is involved, delays must be expected. Its sad but true. His work has always been amazing, and amazingly sporadic.
