"He suggested that everyone play the game from start to a finish once, "and maybe never play it again.""

Wow. I really applaud him for making such a ballsy statement. When I hear that, I think "probably best to just rent then". Kind of like flower, start to finish, then I'm done. Could I have rented it, I would have.

I think this going to be a game that I play through. Then invite a friend over and watch him play through. Then another friend. And so on.

The footage of the game I saw made me more sceptical about its so-called graphical prowess, but it certainly looks like an incredible medium of portraying the story.
I guess if I get a PS3 I'll give it a whirl, the effort to make such a branching game alone warrants a purchase in my books.

You can't tell me what to do, David Cage! You're not my real mom!

If I want to play through a second time and see another different ending, I'm gonna! Stop telling me how to live my life!

visual novel? Obviously people will play it again. and again. unless the naked scenes is what keeps people playing a h-visual novel.

Well you got to get the tsundere loli, and the shy glasses girl. Also there are non-h visual novels that are a good read. (I.E.: Umineko no Naku Koro ni)

Well, the best visual novels, such as ones by Type-Moon(Tsukihime & Fate/Stay Night) and Key(Clannad, AIR, Little Busters) have some sexytime scenes(Clannad was an exception), but they're RARELY the main focus.

Okay, first time I'm gonna kill them all off as soon as possible
second I'm gonna try to get as far as I can with the first person, then kill them off as LATE as possible, and see where it goes from there
then I'll commit to variations of those two extremes

I know nothing about this game except that those few comments by Mr. Cage have sold me on this title completely. The story concepts fascinates me...and I don't know what the story is!

I don't know how I feel about this game, personally I would want to experience the whole thing and not just "my own story".

a game that wont let you save so jus incase you messed up you cant start over from where your last save point at? very good idea

I would like to say I'll only play it through once to get the "maximum" emotional experience and not view it as a game... but I doubt I'll do that, I'm pretty sure my curiorsity will get the better of me!

How will trophies work, if there are any? This is one game where NO trophies is BETTER.

60scenes X 15 minute scenes = 900 minutes divided bye 1 hour equals.....

this game is roughly 15 hours long!!

it sounded like alot less until i did the math, but 15 hours is nothing to shake stick at, if you combine the multiple play throughs you'll prolly do to see the other endings this is gonna be quite the epic game

15 hours does sound good, but if you've got to include branching paths in the total number of scenes then I get the feeling that the total playthrough time will be a lot less than 15 hours.

Why? Did you read anything Cage said? He wants to get away from this notion, who said "the ending where you save everyone is the 'best'"? He doesn't want you to treat it as a game but as an experience that you just roll with. The ending you get may not be the one you want, because, let's say you like to have everyone alive, but if that's the case you're gonna have to not screw up.

Think of it as a take on real life, you want to ask misc. person to the prom/dance/bar/party/whatever but you mess it up somehow, you don't magically get to go back and redo it. This is going to be a single stream experience it seems.

You'll probably be able to have multiple save files if you want, so maybe you could play through each scene and if you don't do what you want to do, go and load another file and try again. Only issue with that is depending on how many branches there are in the scenes, that's gonna be a lot of saved games :)

Why is it that people always try to turn bad ideas into high-sounding artistic concepts?

No saving? An ending no matter what? So if you screw up you have to start the whole thing over? Sounds like a recipe for another under-the-radar game like Indigo Prophecy ... which will of course make the 10 people who play it say it's "art". When it's just a really goofy story stitched together with QTEs and button-tapping.
