yup, i prefer having local hardware and games vs relying on the interwebz to stream it.

my cable modem went down last weekend but thankfully i could still play my ps3 :)

for some it may be a great fit but for this geek/gamer; i'll pass and take my physical media and console :P

I've said this before, and I'll say it again. Onlive has been in development for over seven years, and they have been unable to secure ONE exclusive title.

Not one developer in the entire world has enough faith in this product to step forward and say "We're developing for this console; here is an exclusive game". In fact, I believe it's been reported that a number of the titles currently listed as available on OnLive are simply there for a trial basis, essentially loaned out to OnLive to test the system and servers, these titles might not be on the finished product. Add to the fact that all the titles are all just PC versions (not even versions specially designed to run on OnLive - though OnLive insists this is "the point" that they can just use PC Ports).

The bottom line, in my opinion, is that this is not a viable gaming platform until the day that developers see it as a viable oppertunity to make money. Until that day, we will see no exclusives, only PC versions of existing games. Does anyone here honestly have any interest in that?

Oh, and if you're one of those sad few who believes that exclusives aren't important and don't sell systems; please, don't bother replying here, because that is such a misguided opinion that is not worth anyones time.

I have a few questions. When you sign up for the service, do you have to buy each game that you want to play on their and pay a monthly fee? Or do you just have to pay for the games themselves. Also, if you DO have to pay for each individual game, what's going to happen to all those games you paid for if the company ever decides to shut the service down. Do they reimburse you, or are you SOL?

You should have pulled the ethernet cord from the back of the system and seen if it actually shut down. It'd be hilarious if everything kept working as normal... lip-syncing meets gaming.

The irony of using a Time Warner modem is so amazing it has to be intentional.

They pick the one US ISP that is intent on killing any form of activity that isn't just email.

You're wrong, and I'll correct you :)

A PC exclusive appearing on OnLive would no longer be exclusive to either platform, thereby negating exclusivity. For it to be an OnLive exclusive, it would have to be available only on OnLive. Hell, even a "timed exclusive" is a good start for OnLive, but as I've noted, nothing close has been revealed. The key word being "revealed", it's very possible that somethings hiding in the shadows, an ace up OnLive's sleeve, but let's be honest here - is that very lucky?

That's something that Sony, Microsoft or Nintendo can afford to do, save something til the last minute... OnLive needs every possible point in it's favor, and soon, otherwise it'll turn to vaporware - and hiding games will not score any points at this point. :)

What hardware exactly do you think OnLive is running on? Not-PC hardware?

One of the best uses of this product would be to play full featured games on mobile devices that lack the hardware necessary to play them locally (such as a cell phone, netbook, i.e.) but given the state of wireless broadband coverage in the US and the fact that all carriers have a 5GB per month cap, that will not happen anytime soon. And by the time that happens, these devices will mosly likely have the hardware necessary to play these games without having to stream video feeds. Also, once metered billing becomes a fact of life for home broadband (which I am afraid is enevitible), services such as this will be far too costly for the "average" consumer.

@amrosorma - why don't you head on over to OnLive's website yourself and do a little research.
