'!' Metal Gear Solid Rising confirmed for PS3, PC

Additionally, Kojima revealed the significance of the storm teaser from his website. Contrary to your seemingly acute observations, the storm symbolizes the current economic situation, and the entertainment business is the force that will "clear up the storm." Shucks. That was so going to be our next guess!

I thought it was said to be coming to PC as well...
jahd5000 @ Jun 3rd 2009 7:00PM

yokel @ Jun 3rd 2009 7:21PM
Thank you Microsoft for sending something good to the PC. I'm happy now.:)
ThatPCgameryouhate @ Jun 3rd 2009 8:33PM
I love people who just read the the title (not in this case even) and make a very stupid and obvious comment
dblakenz @ Jun 3rd 2009 8:40PM
@ yokel.
Why are you thanking Microsoft? Konami/Kojima Productions are the one's who are making the game. Microsoft have nothing to do with it
Cosmo @ Jun 3rd 2009 9:00PM
PC release, woo hoo, thanks Konami!!! : D

ThatPCgameryouhate - oh, thanks for that. I posted it a couple of minutes after it was up, and the article mentioned nothing about the PC version. They changed it later.
deezee @ Jun 3rd 2009 6:49PM

I expect Microsoft's E3 next year to acquire another Sony exclusive. It seems like this is the current trend every year
tmacairjordan87 @ Jun 3rd 2009 6:50PM
Why bother making your own when you can just take 1 every year?
Rosssas @ Jun 3rd 2009 6:53PM
apart from Microsoft make a hell of a lot of their own
tmacairjordan87 @ Jun 3rd 2009 6:56PM
Yeah like all the ones coming this year, like Forza 3 and MORE halo and.....ummm......that's it actually.
Dudeman (psn: Jballboy88) @ Jun 3rd 2009 6:58PM
yeah why doesn't sony buy exclusives from microsoft?
MariusElijah (Only on PlayStation 3) @ Jun 3rd 2009 6:58PM
Steal my exclusives, I'll make more, lots more
tmacairjordan87 @ Jun 3rd 2009 7:01PM
"yeah why doesn't sony buy exclusives from microsoft?"
Because Sony has no money to buy anything from anyone. This was something I knew was going to happen when MS joined the industry, that they were just going to buy everything up. It just took them like 7 years before they started doing it.
DeathroW @ Jun 3rd 2009 7:05PM
I don't ever recall metal gear solid: rising ever being announced as an exclusive for the PS3.
So what exclusive did microsoft actually get of sony's this year?
Ezio Auditore de Firenze [PSN SniperChameleon] @ Jun 3rd 2009 7:14PM
yeah, sony has a policy of not buying exclusive games. they tend to "help" certain developers when they're choosing platforms for certain titles, though...
Chris D.(PSN: Aggie_CEO | XBL:The Aggie CEO | Steam: Aggie_CEO @ Jun 4th 2009 6:37AM
what other third party exclusives are left tho?? I cant really think of any...
tmacairjordan87 @ Jun 3rd 2009 6:51PM
I knew it was coming to ps3 when Microsoft unveiled it and wasn't repeating the word exclusive 4 million times to make sure we all knew it was 360 only.
R.F.E.F. Red Fury (UltraS Sur) @ Jun 3rd 2009 6:59PM
"repeating the word exclusive 4 million times"
No, Jack Tretton currently holds that record.
Gillfigno @ Jun 3rd 2009 6:53PM
Ok, place your bets now. I'm saying it's gonna be a beat-em-up.
Dudeman (psn: Jballboy88) @ Jun 3rd 2009 6:59PM
yeah wat xbox fanboys dont get is that they still don't have a real stealth mgs game; just a crappy multi-plat Infamous
Killiam XXIII @ Jun 3rd 2009 7:01PM
£15 says its a MMO
Dudeman (psn: Jballboy88) @ Jun 3rd 2009 7:05PM
im sorry how much is that in $$$ cuz that way i kno how much im gonna win :P
Gillfigno @ Jun 3rd 2009 7:12PM
It's about 25 dollars.
R.F.E.F. Red Fury (UltraS Sur) @ Jun 3rd 2009 7:19PM
20€ says that its gonna be a RTS.
Lav @ Jun 3rd 2009 7:29PM
My superior american dollars (of course)....says it will be a flashier and less comprehensive than the past MGS games.
Killiam XXIII @ Jun 3rd 2009 7:37PM
"My superior american dollars"
Haha! Silly Americans.
Roto13 @ Jun 3rd 2009 7:37PM

Phoenix @ Jun 3rd 2009 10:04PM

LordToastington @ Jun 3rd 2009 10:27PM
Ooh! Cooking Simulator!
Gibbeynater @ Jun 3rd 2009 6:58PM
I'm glad, really. I guess Kojima learned his lesson after Substance on the original Xbox sucked. Seriously, I have both PS2 and Xbox Substance, the PS2 version is 10 times better. No slowdown, better controls, and a skateboarding minigame.
FOXHOUND @ Jun 3rd 2009 7:01PM
The SKA remix of the MGS theme is probably the best part of that skateboarding game, though. x_X But this is good news for both sides, indeed.
EGOvoruhk @ Jun 3rd 2009 7:38PM
The Xbox wasn't to blame for that. It was just a terrible port. The Xbox was always superior to the PS2 in terms of power
Danzaiver @ Jun 3rd 2009 7:00PM
I wonder if this new MGS is going to use the MGS4 engine.
And maybe multiple discs for the XBOX.
Danzaiver @ Jun 3rd 2009 7:04PM
BTW Kojima is not directing this MGS ...
Lavat @ Jun 3rd 2009 7:38PM
Now that I know it is not really being headed by Kojima...I don't mind...The only reason I played the Metal Gear Games is because he continually brought his brilliance with everything he worked on. I really do not trust this new staff to bring what he brought...If you watch the Blu Ray in the Limited Edition he really had to push his staff to strive for a new limit. I will follow Kojima's more involved Peace Walker closer.
THE WICKER MAN (BWF) (GT: Dalek Prime) @ Jun 3rd 2009 7:00PM
Shouldn't they drop "Solid" from the title since Snake isn't the main character?
jahd5000 @ Jun 3rd 2009 7:01PM
mgs2 was a solid game with raiden.
Gillfigno @ Jun 3rd 2009 7:09PM
Solid Snake was the main character of both Metal Gear 1 and 2 before it had Solid in the title.
I think they should have dropped the Solid title after MGS2, but I think they stick with it because casual fans aren't aware of the previous 'Metal Gear' titled games.
Nineteen88 @ Jun 3rd 2009 7:10PM
@jahd5000, Yeah but Snake was actually in it, and the storyline was related to him as well.
Who knows.. Kojima is the master of surprise.
Timja @ Jun 3rd 2009 7:46PM
Kojima has stated in a previous interview around the release of the PSP games that the "Solid" prefix means it's a stealth+action game that pertains to and is canon to the Solid universe, that's why the card games (Metal Gear Ac!d) don't carry the prefix. They apparently don't follow that naming pattern anymore with the release of Metal Gear Solid Touch but you could even argue that it now represents just that it's Canon to the "Solid" storylines.
LaughingMan @ Jun 3rd 2009 9:36PM
Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake Eater was a "Solid" game, but it didn't feature "Solid Snake." Snake was Naked Snake, Big Boss...
The title almost doesn't matter anymore. Its named MGS because fans associate it with AWESOME. A marketing decision.
What's more telling is the subtitle... every MGS game up to this point (even on the PSP) has been "Tactical Espionage Action." But Rising is something different.... "Lightning Bolt Action" implies a totally new gameplay.
Lieutenant Gunther (PSN: helghast102) @ Jun 4th 2009 6:09AM
Its "Solid" because of the graphics, NOT Solid Snake, does anyone read anymore? dumbasses.
Dave @ Jun 13th 2009 7:32PM
No they shouldnt drop the Solid title. Even though Snake isnt the main character or as in MGS3 wasnt part of it at all, the story still involves Solid Snake because as we all know MGS4 is the Final Solid Snake game, and if another one gets made with him as the main character before hes all old and stuff, its just another back story type game leading up to how Snake got where he was in MGS4. MGS Rising is explaining more about Big Boss, and how he got SOLID Snake involved... so thats why they are keeping the title Metal Gear Solid.
Slayer @ Jun 3rd 2009 7:02PM
There you have it, you motherfuckers. Now people can stop bitching, moaning, and crying about whether the game is exclusive or non exclusive.
:p
Leobebes (BDF: Braid Defence Force) @ Jun 3rd 2009 7:03PM
God forbid the unltra nationalist Kojima makes something exclusive for the 360. I bet you representatives for Konami probably felt like pulling teeth when they insisted on Kojima make Rising for the 360.
Konami: "Please Kojima we need your blessing, for the well being of this company!"
Kojima: "No, that dirty western company will ruin my vision! With their inferior product! There is no way that DVD 9 can hold 100 hours of my monotonous, incoherent, kindergarten deep dialouge!"
Konami: "Please Kojima everyone is going multiplatform! Look we'll fund your next game and promise to trick University english professors like we tricked your fanboys into convincing the literary world that you are the Hemingway of gaming!"
Kojima: "Hmmm this is relevant to my interests...SOLD!...Where do I sign?"
Danzaiver @ Jun 3rd 2009 7:07PM
Well actually Kojima isn't directing this game, instead he is going to focus completely on the PSP game. So I don't see the purpouse of this game at all.
