'!' Metal Gear Solid Rising confirmed for PS3, PC

During Konami's E3 press conference today, Kojima confirmed assumptions that Metal Gear Solid Rising will be multiplatform, now announced for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 and PC. Kojima also shed some light on the mysteries of "lightning bolt action," calling Rising an experiment in building technology first, and then delivering new content based on it. A team of new, "young" staff will produce the project.

Additionally, Kojima revealed the significance of the storm teaser from his website. Contrary to your seemingly acute observations, the storm symbolizes the current economic situation, and the entertainment business is the force that will "clear up the storm." Shucks. That was so going to be our next guess!

Are you serious? Just becuase you haven't had the opportunity to play a game as deep as MGS4 on the xbox does not warrant you to bash this great game...With a great story line... Stop talking out of your a$$.

so i guess you wont be getting this because you hate Kojima. oh and how is that any different than valve not making a left 4 dead or any other valve game for ps3.

Complex doesn't = "deep"

There are plenty of other games on both the 360 AND PS3 which have far "deeper" storylines than Metal Gear Solid 4, which was extremely drawn out, needlessly pedantic and laced with pseudo-philosphy that failed to be even remotely thought provoking.

Even MGS3 is a better example of good story telling, but even then, it's supposed to be a game.. It shouldn't need reems of dialogue to get it's point across.. That's what you call poor story telling.

Gabe Newell from Valve absolutely hates the PS3. Left 4 dead is never coming the PS3, yet no one seems to think of Gabe as ridiculously bias.

It's funny how Kojima is a "nationalist." Because we all know he's going around slinging Metal Gear games on to Wii and DS like mad and completely ignoring all Xbox platforms.

Little backstory for you guys on his Kojima hate. He only hates him because Kojima snubbed his friend's toy factory or something along those lines. The exact details have faded from my memory after some time.

There are *ahem* a lot of multiplat games I/everyone associates with PlayStation.

alex - And that was a port from the MSX2, a Microsoft console.

I put my money on a God of War/DMC style game. combo-counter and all.

That's my assumption for a Raiden-as-cyber-ninja game. I was hoping to play as him with no arms, see how creative you can get.

I'm not. I think everyone should have the opportunity to play fantastic games, regardless of system. I don't see the point in arguing system superiority.

I just wish I could get 4 on 360. I bought a 360 due to its lower price, but have only owned Sony systems for the past 2 generations. Played the HELL out of MGS 1-3. Loved every second. And if anyone tries to pull the whole "LOLZORZ 360 WUD ASPL0DE FRUM IT" bit, I weep for your loved ones.

this metal gear solid game on the 360 is going to look just like MGS 1 did on the PS1..

Metal Gear has been on Xbox, Gamecube, NES, MSX, PC, Gameboy, N-Gage and iPhone.

Not to mention Kojima likes Nintendo (I guess because they're from Jap too) and had Snake on Brawl . Not really an entire game but still shows you that it's not all about Sony for Hideo.

Sort of disappointing that he's not heading the production team.

Unpopular as an opinion as this likely is,

I thought it was remarkably stupid and asinine during MS' conference when they said to Kojima something along the lines of "now that 360 has a Kojima game, it's finally a complete gaming experience on the console." So effing stupid. I mean, sure, it's great and all, yippee, but kissing his ass to that degree is so stupid.

No one else thinks that making MGS:R multi-platform but keeping MGS4 a PS3 exclusive will help PS3 and MGS4 sales? No one cared much for Raiden until MGS4 anway.

i never cared 4 raiden. after mgs4 i still had no care 4 him or his family.

I think the PS3 slim is confirmed by that photo. Remember how the slim had the PS3 logo style same as the PS2? Well, its the old style in that pic, and knowing that its legit, slim may also be legit.

the game is going to be all small on the ps3 now because of the xbox.

Sadly, I think our only hope would be to use a PS2 emulator, and that needs a powerful PC to emulate. : (

If the PC is getting this, why not 4? ; )

This new game is going to be great because it is the story line end of MGS2 and the begining of MGS4. Talk about Raiden how he get his body like this in MGS4.

People who played MGS2 should know Raiden didn't look like this after he finished Solidus Snake.

This time around it is MGS Rising, it could mean how does Raiden become like this.

This shouldn't even been named Metal Gear Solid because Kojima is not involved in any aspect of Rising, and its not a prequel or a sequel. Its sad they just slapped the game with the Metal Gear Solid brand just to sell more even though its a completely different game.

I have a hunch it may have the hack 'n' slash action of that hidden mini-game from mgs3. You know the one where you save and load during the torture sequence.

How did Microsoft "steal" MGS?. MGS 2 was on the Xbox you know.

Microsoft is good in taking exclusives from the competition instead of making their own exclusives.

Take Sony for example. They've lost GTA4 as an exclusive console title, but they've got Agent, a new exclusive.

My guesses are that the next Xbox is going to try to steal the exclusive Agent 3. They will succeed, but who cares? Because Sony is creating a new exclusive IP.

For me the PS3 is better, because it is a platform for real exclusive games. The best 360 games, where stolen from the Playstation.
