We hope EA is paying Jack Black a pretty hearty check, as he's been a pretty vocal advocate of Tim Schafer's upcoming Brutal Legend. It probably helps that he's the main character, but we're still surprised by the actor's continued presence in the game's promotion. The latest episode of "Brutal Thoughts" has Schafer doling out the pain to Black by transforming him into a human videogame character.
These probably take 10 minutes each to make, and both so far look like they were on the same set. True, he's shown up in other stuff related to the game, but nothing super time-consuming or requiring any more than usual of Jack Black's infinite energy.
I was a late on the psychonauts bandwagon, but loved grim fandango (played it when it first released). I do not need to see a review of this game for it to be a day 1 purchase for me. The only other game this year that can pull my attention away or lower my hype is Modern Warfare 2 (PC). But my consoles still need some love, so no problem there.
I was late on Psychonauts AND Grim Fandango! I was 8 around that time when it came out and I fully remembered my best friend's father being an awesome, hardcore gamer and I always heard that Grim was one of the best games from him. I didn't have a good PC or a gaming console for that matter when I was around that age so that's why I haven't played it. It wasn't until last year that I found out Grim was one of the best PC games of all time. In short, I want to play Grim Fandango now!
Jack Black loves Tim Schaffer. Schaffer approached Black after finding out that he played through Psychonauts.
I imagine this is as much a geekout experience for Jack Black as it is for Tim Schaffer. If Tim Schaffer asks a Double Fine fan to be electrocuted to help sell his game, dude, clamp me and charge that shit up.
