Video: Meet the various faces of Heavy Rain
Pole dancers, zebra suits and hanging crosses, oh my! These are just some of the sights to spot in this new Heavy Rain trailer from E3. Take a very close look at some of those new faces; any one of them could be one of the four mysterious playable characters that were hinted at previously. We've already met Jayden, Mad Jack and Madison, but who are all the others?

Day... one
Dolemike @ Jun 3rd 2009 2:50PM
Alan Wake FTW!
freecajunlove @ Jun 3rd 2009 3:30AM
So... the purpose of the female lead is to strip down to her undies and fight?
PSN: John-Paul-Jones @ Jun 3rd 2009 3:53AM
I think the old, balding guy is trying to get it on with the other dude's girlfriend, as shown in the trailer when the old guy had a gun pointed at her and she was baring it all down (pretty much rape), hence the "how far would you go to save someone" tagline. I guess the tagline is also directed at you and not just the storyline within the game and how far would you go if you want to save the characters and stuff
Cash @ Jun 3rd 2009 3:33PM
That's gotta suck for that dude, getting the crap kicked out of him by a lamp-wielding, chair-throwing chick in her undies.
sirpilf @ Jun 3rd 2009 3:53AM
i dunno why but the FBI agent looks really bad.... and actually maybe the whole game in general doesnt look as good as the tech demos but ill have to see more.
Nineteen88 @ Jun 3rd 2009 4:04AM
I agree, although downgraded graphics won't stop me from purchasing this game day one .. but it's mentally depressing, the graphics ..
Why?! =(
PSN: John-Paul-Jones @ Jun 3rd 2009 4:22AM
You should see it in the PS3 from the PS Store if you haven't already. I went completely fanboy delusional and wept,
HUH? Why does it have shit graphics? Oh, hahaha it must be my PS3 that accidentally configured my display setting to 480P. Silly me! *checks and sees current configuration still at 1080P* No...this is not...happening :'(
Nineteen88 @ Jun 3rd 2009 4:31AM
@PSN: John-Paul-Jones,
OMG, I'll download it right away, I have an XBR6 40" Bravia TV + an EXCELLENT library of 1080p 60fps PS3 Games! ;( ..
I'll set my Denial Mode: ON .. =(
add me: Pensive7

The graphics aren't that bad. The only thing I saw that resembled 'bad' was when the cop walked though the grass and it didn't move. Nowhere near 'bad'. Fallout was worse than this, and I don't hear many people complaining.
But it's still making me want a PS3, which is what exclusives are supposed to do. It's heading towards the 'maybe' pile, along with CoD:MW2.

*SLAP IN THE FACE TO ALL
All the trailers/demos from E3 look that bad or worse (they're a capture of a capture) that doesn't mean that's how the game will look in our TVs
deathxrebirth @ Jun 3rd 2009 4:01AM
Wow. Seriously. I am impressed.
Started a fresh game of FF7. Just played the shit out of Uncharted demo. Tons of amazing Sony videos. OVERLOAD.
ShadowXOR @ Jun 3rd 2009 4:06AM
Cool. When this comes out I'll have two games for my PS3. You got a long way to go Sony.
Nineteen88 @ Jun 3rd 2009 4:10AM
Too Poor? or Too Picky? You're probably a little bit of both.. Why play Video Games?
steven(PSN: small_hands) @ Jun 3rd 2009 8:54AM
The whole 'PS3 has no good games' arguement is so out dated, there are tons of great PS3 exclusives out there not to mention great multi platform releases and this has been the case for a while now, get over overself...
Viridium @ Jun 3rd 2009 9:50AM
I'm with Shadow XOR. Having a 360 with all my friends, any multiplatform game heads over there and takes priority over PS3 games. That pretty much leaves only exclusives for the PS3, and of those generally only ones with a strong single player component. And that are not full price, since we've got a load of games on 360 already.
I've got Siren and MGS4. If the price drops to a reasonable level, I'd consider Heavenly Sword and Uncharted and InFamous.
Really, Heavy Rain is the only game that I am REALLY anticipating.
arrrgh @ Jun 3rd 2009 10:44AM
Siren sucked unbelievable amounts of ass :(
but i am still totally stoked for THIS. Heavy rain still looks sick in my eyes. It's about the atmosphere
arrrgh @ Jun 3rd 2009 10:46AM
pick up uncharted for SURE. Insanely well done game, just wreaks of effort.
check out wipeout too! there are some good cheap PSN games that are a lot of fun
haaliok @ Jun 3rd 2009 4:32AM
Reminds me of the blade runner game, without the sci-fi element.....that was game was a classic
j.howlett @ Jun 3rd 2009 8:17AM
are you saying madjack is a playable character? (non of joystiq's videos work for me)
steven(PSN: small_hands) @ Jun 3rd 2009 8:57AM
Very excited for this! But as said the graphics arent looking as awe-inspiring as they did in the tech demo which makes me sad, still getting this game though and m,aybe its too early to really tell wont they have more time to sprouse things up a bit?
hatmantc @ Jun 3rd 2009 9:06AM
this is an awesome trailer. i dont know why Sony didnt show this one or the Unchareted Trailer that is up o n the PSN as well.
sirpilf @ Jun 3rd 2009 12:25PM
well it doesn't look bad, but I think it looks just better then average now and not jaw droping. but again I'll wait till I see it on my tv and I loved indigo prophecy even tho it had crap graphics.
pliny5678 @ Jun 3rd 2009 3:56PM
It's easy to tell how good graphics will be, even on low res streaming video. For some reason, Quantic Dream seems to have trouble making better than average graphics. Try going from MGS3's graphics to Indigo Prophecy. *shiver*
SoulAssassin @ Jun 3rd 2009 4:36PM
Nice. I thought the trailer was well done. I'm a little upset that this isn't coming out until early 2010. I was hoping to play it later this year.
belovedconsole @ Jun 4th 2009 11:26PM
No. The eyes continue to not focus, properly. This was fine, for Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy, on ps2... but here? I will get this day 1 for fun-- I think the story and atmosphere is going to be wonderful. But don't try to tell me that the uncanny valley is not here in full force. People with Asperger's syndrome will think this is amazing. For those of us who can read body and eye language, this is a joke, as far as uncanny valley goes. But still, I'll get it, as I think it'll be a great escapade. I'll just ignore when people's eyes don't focus correctly. Like they did, in Heavenly Sword. If that tech was used here, we would have an amazing game. As it is, we have a fun game. So, good enough.
