So they jumped like 300 years between the first and second one...if they jump another 300 in the third one that would put it around the time of the US starting up.....they could make that even crazier....

I really cant wait to get my hands on this game, not only that I would LOVE to see this go another 2 games after this one...I mean if they are teaching Eziro to be an assassin's in this one then they could teach dude thats in the machine to be one in current time(2012, unless they make the world end...lol)...but I think the first one ended on kind of a cliffhanger....

Yeah, the American War of Independence would be a pretty unique setting for a game. Either that or the French Revolution... playing as a Scarlet Pimpernel type figure... in fact, that would be freaking awesome, please Ubi!

I still don't like the whole "genetic memory" thing as a framing device though. It's as if they didn't feel that a historical setting could stand up on its own (and sell units), so dumped it in the middle of some sci-fi BS.

well by them doing it the way they are doing it allows for them to not only skip around in time....but also add another twist to the game.....gets WAAAAAAAAAAAY more in depth if they want it...

Though Im not specifically sure about New Amsterdam, I don't think anything around the American Revolution would suffice for an AC setting. The first criteria is a sprawling cityscape.

My guess would be London.

I really wanted Asaassin's Creed 3 to take place during Desmond's time period, hoping that Desmond would break out of the cell he's in and find out exactly who placed him there in the first place and kill him and others in his way (but the people who placed him there may be explored in AC2). But, the Assassin's Creed series has been a pivotal franchise that explores the famous eras of the past, so I think it would be great if AC3 took place during the American or French revolution

I never saw it coming at the end of 1 either.

Course...I have no idea what it was, seeing as the ending made no sense at all. Fun game though, just had a really bad story.

The ending of Assassin's Creed 1 really pissed me off.

It was like, okay, let's go kick some ass! *the end* WHAT!?

I knew it was a trilogy... but god, that wasn't as much of a cliffhanger as it was a punch in the face.

i really enjoyed the ending, it made waaaaay more sense if you did all the conversations with Lucy and snuck around on the computers. You found stuff about the Tunguska Event, The Crystal Skulls (yes the same ones from Indiana Jones), the mayan apocalpyse, more stuff from the bible, Yonaguni (basically Japan's Atlantis), the philadelphia experiment, the tomb of China's first emperor (rumored to contain a portal to hell) and almost all of that was referenced with the secret endings on the wall, and some more, like the Nazca Lines which are said to have been maid by the Nazca to communicate with aliens. When you understand all that stuff it really was a satisfying ending, although I suppose being a conspiracy buff helps also. For those of you who want to know more, as i dont want to there's a really detailed explanation here from one of the people who worked on the game that explains the end stuff as well as the emails http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=175552

If I finish AC2, the first thing I'll exclaim is "Wow, I finished an Ubisoft game! I usually can't because of all the horrendous screen tearing!"

Oh, and for the record, the AC2 demo at the Sony press conference had a lot of tearing along the edges of the screen. I won't be exclaiming anything, because I won't be finishing it, because I won't be buying it, because I don't support developers that crank out a shoddy product. Screen tearing looks terrible. FIX IT.

Really, some screen tearing keeps you from playing good games? That is found in titles all the time, so you must enjoy playing scrabble with grandma every night instead of gaming.

Cliffhangers in games suck, you wait 2-4 years and forget most of what happened anyway, and that's IF they you get to play the next game (see: PAL territories and Xenosaga).

Just make the game and end it, the sequel doesn't suffer and the experience is better for it.
