sigh for all the trolls saying 2 discs are bad just shut it.
lots of PS1 games were on milti discs, eg Metal gear solid, Resident evil, GT2, FF7 and those games being multi disk never made them any less fun to play or any less of a success. also i dont really mind if this comes on 2 discs, i get more for my moneys worth :)

I don't have that kind of space on my hard drive.

I think this is not good at all.

"Disc one is the full experience, even disc one is bigger than any other racing game out there." I hope he is refering to this generation because I am pretty sure that Gran Turismo 4 is bigger, Even Gran Turismo 2 has more cars...

I honestly never thought I would see the day when we actually had to have a 2 disc racing game. Sure devs are alwasy talking about how limited the DVD is when it comes to HD graphics but I never thought it would come to this during the 360's life cycle. I mean come on, a racing game?! Yeah OK it's a lot of cars and a lot of extra tools and functions to this game, and it looks fantastic but 2 discs for a racing game? I really wish MS would just pony up for that blu-ray add on, because if this is a trend even those with a 120GB HDD are going to run out of room. Of course It goes with out saying we have no idea how much data is on the second disc, heck it could be 300MB for all we know.

everyone is heavily overlooking that GT and the Forza series are dependent on each other. If GT5 was never there Forza 3 Graphics would still look like xbox and it Forza3 was never here GT may never have got some exotics and damage modeling

As for community, for now all I can say is Forza 2 has a much bigger community. But I'll reserve judgment until both real games are out (well thats if GT5 ever makes it out before I go and die :P )

I saw on Gamestop, they are having a limited edition copy that will contain exclusive cars. maybe those are the missing cars that everyone won't be able to get that would add up to the 400 vehicles.

Probably because joystiq isnt crewed by the type of rabid idiot fanboys that would create/post such a thing.

Haha, that's funny!
But to the other guy in this post: Why do you say that? Joystiq fucks with PS3 sometimes, why not 360 sometimes. It's all in good fun!

I'm not crazy about the sim racing genre, but this one has my attention. It might be my first foray into the racing world.

Well... I'll just install both discs... problem solved.

To me, this is good news. It tells me we are getting a LOT of content this time around. I cannot wait for this game.

Does anyone know if the Limited Edition Forza 3 is Gamestop exclusive? I doubt Microsoft would do that, but you never know anymore.

1. over 50% failure rate
2. 2 disc's
3. "dumbed down" games for the system to handle
4. less exclusives with weaker over all ratings

what's next for the mighty 360...? I know, I know, not FAIL, EPIC FAIL!

@jasonerin1981

People are still claiming the 360 games are dumbed down? The only game I know of that was dumbed down was UT3, and it was dumbed down on BOTH consoles because it was designed for PCs with up to 8 times the memory of the 360/PS3. (1GB graphics 3GB system vs 256MB graphics 256MB system for PS3, 512MB split however you want on 360)

Theres so little difference in reality between PS3 and 360, except 360 is more flexible RAM wise. (if you need less than 256MB system RAM you can use the rest for graphics, on PS3 you can't)

Guess what, games written first on PC look better on PC, games written first on 360 are better on 360, games written first on PS3 look better on PS3. That is purely down to the time spent optimising for a given system, nothing to do with that systems real capabilities. The only exception is if they then spend a year porting it over instead of a few months, because again it means they spent more time tweaking the game for that system so naturally its more optimised.

All games can be improved over the state they are in when released. If they couldn't, all games would still look like the early 360/PS3 games with last-gen graphics in HD. Its all about development time and little about hardware, except the known fact the 360 devkit is easier so it takes less time to develop on 360 than PS3 to the same standards. Why do you think GT5 is taking so long? We will have had 2 Forza games in the time it takes to release GT5, Prologue does not count as its more or less GT5 beta with hardly any cars/tracks.

Who cares about the number of cars over 400. That's plenty. I'd rather have 400 cool cars than 800 of a mixed bag of cars. Who the hell is going to really collect and drive them all anyways... are you shitting me? Some of you are just complaining for the sake of complaining. Maybe you need a bottle and diapers with your "more cars" and "less disks". Honestly.. WTF?!?! This game already looks like it kicks ass. The graphics on par with GT5 thus far with car damage and major customization options. Deal with it!!!

Oh.. and it actually has a release date... unlike the other franchise that is taking a decade to develop and still has the fans waiting. It must be those angry fans that feel the need to come here and cry.

The ps3 fanboys are looking awfully jealous after reading most of the reply's. Seems like they all want to hate on the 2 disc thing. Seriously, it's not like you ps3 guys have any other racing game to play in the near future, so there is no point in whining about the 2 minutes it's going to take to permanently install the second disc.
Who the hell knows when we are going to see the real Gran turismo, so instead of putting down forza, why not just be a little more open minded and realize that you are spending too much time hating. No system has a good racing game presently so i welcome anything decent to the market.
Ya, maybe gt will be better, it sure as hell should be they been working on it damn near forever, but in the mean time, why not get forza and have a little fun? Oh, i forgot, you guys are so busy you don't have the time to install the second disc.

I very well may get GT too if it ever hits the shelf, but until then, i'll glady take forza.

BTW, 120gb hd's for the 360 are only about $75 on ebay, the 60's are substantially less. So getting a little more space isn't really that costly.
