Joystiq Podcast E309 - Burrito of Fate edition
With a recording set up that fancy, you might be expecting one of our classier podcasts. Maybe it is, now that we think about it, but that's not exactly saying a lot, is it?
With this new dispatch from the front lines, the team is talking about the games they loved and the ones that left them cold. Also, WoW.com's Mike Schramm treats us all to the Burrito of Fate story.

The MP3 link is not working for me.
Markez @ Jun 4th 2009 3:09PM
Well, neither is this relationship.
Taylor @ Jun 4th 2009 3:10PM
ya, it's not working for me either.
JXCgunrunna @ Jun 4th 2009 3:25PM
Is there an other man?
Vegnagun bwf @ Jun 4th 2009 3:34PM
Me.
JXCgunrunna @ Jun 4th 2009 3:36PM
Dammit Markez, I gave you everything you ever wanted. I had always suspected Fernando but why did you have to do it?
ScottG13 @ Jun 4th 2009 3:39PM
Works now. Yay.
JXCgunrunna @ Jun 4th 2009 3:41PM
31 Seconds of it are working now. good start :D
NaeemTHM @ Jun 4th 2009 3:11PM
I enjoyed the Splinter Cell talk in the last podcast but I don't think anyone mentioned the ability to ghost yourself. That is just friggin amazing! I imagine playing Metal Gear Solid 3 would have been so much more engaging with that ability.
Being able to see where the enemy last saw you adds a whole new level of tactics to the stealth game genre.
Saria the Cat @ Jun 4th 2009 3:16PM
Keep them coming! I need your sweet voices to listen to so I don't go insane on the elliptical at the gym.
NaeemTHM @ Jun 4th 2009 3:18PM
GUH?! You're a gamer, a girl, and you go to the gym? What an anomaly.
Dude....I think you may be the chosen one or something.
Markez @ Jun 4th 2009 3:22PM
I dunno if it's really *that* uncommon. My gal is a workout addict and is currently sinking a ridiculous amount of hours into PuzzleQuest. Just as the tired notion of male gamers being lazy fatties is incorrect, as evidenced by the number of fellow stiqqers I'm connected to on facebook, as is the notion that there aren't any fine lady gamers out there.
charlie b. @ Jun 4th 2009 3:22PM
"GYME?" what's a "GYME?"
Shagittarius @ Jun 4th 2009 3:24PM
My girlfriend goes to a gym for doctors...the OB/GYM.
NaeemTHM @ Jun 4th 2009 3:25PM
Oh I'm aware Markez, I was just being a silly goose. As a matter of fact my lady is also a huge gamer and hits the gym quite often.
Shame she doesn't post here ;___; She thinks it's too "nerdy".
Saria the Cat @ Jun 4th 2009 3:27PM
I will admit that I'm not a workout addict, though. I HATE the gym and I HATE exercise...I just established a regular schedule for myself for, you know, healthiness. -_-
And if you're imagining some cute girl in a sports bra and tiny shorts playing a pink DS while bouncing around, you're dead wrong. Picture this: sweaty, panting girl looking on the verge of death while wearing old soccer shorts and a giant oversized T-shirt.
Markez @ Jun 4th 2009 3:29PM
HURRAY FOR UMBROS AND PROMOTIONAL XXL GEICO TSHIRT!
JXCgunrunna @ Jun 4th 2009 3:32PM
you played soccer?
Saria the Cat @ Jun 4th 2009 3:36PM
@JXC: Not exactly. I bought the shorts because they were cheap. I played when I was in 2nd grade...just like everyone else, I think. :) There is absolutely nothing sporty about me.
Taylor @ Jun 4th 2009 3:38PM
My sister is an NFL cheerleader and plays 'hardcore' games with me all the time. She beat FF8 and Zelda OoT all by herself. Looks don't matter when it comes to games. They are much cooler then the general population makes them out to be.
JXCgunrunna @ Jun 4th 2009 3:38PM
haha thats too bad. soccer is a great sport.
Saria the Cat @ Jun 4th 2009 3:50PM
@JXC: It's the only sport I can actually sit still for and watch (Barcelona! :D). I think it also helps that matches are usually only 90 minutes long. American football is ridiculous --- 3+ hours!
I do get bored when all the soccer players are just falling down like flies to fake injuries and waste time.
JXCgunrunna @ Jun 4th 2009 4:06PM
yea but you have to think by 50 minutes into the game, they have to be so tired that falling is a quick way to get a small break. especially if you are an outside mid.
The Dark Wayne @ Jun 5th 2009 1:12AM
football wouldnt be that bad if they didnt have a commercial break every fucking play. Also, just for you Saria: IT PUTS THE LOTION ON ITS SKIN
Kyle Nichol @ Jun 4th 2009 3:19PM
Not working on this end, and I was hoping to listen to it while I wait for Final Fantasy VII to finish downloading.
ericeman @ Jun 4th 2009 3:20PM
That is most definitely a Samson C01U with optional Spider Shock Mount. It sounds great and is relatively cheap... can't argue with that!
Vegnagun bwf @ Jun 4th 2009 3:27PM
It's not on iTunes, yet... c'mon guys hurry up, I've got a long drive ahead of me and I need some of that Joystiq Podcast lovin'.
ObiBen @ Jun 4th 2009 3:47PM
was going to listen at work, but the podcast cuts out after a few seconds. What gives?
Saria the Cat @ Jun 4th 2009 3:57PM
Totally off-topic but I'm listening to Podcast 87 - "SaFUNri Edition" and Ludwig just pronounced Tupac as "Two-pack." He is ridiculously cute!
theCardinal @ Jun 4th 2009 4:28PM
Come on guys. Getcha ducks in a row. I need more than 18 minutes.
exs @ Jun 4th 2009 5:30PM
I am only getting less than 3 minutes :( they need to fix the mp3 since I have no access to iTunes.
iamjonvaillant @ Jun 4th 2009 6:50PM

NukeAssault @ Jun 4th 2009 8:25PM

juliusdeane (Jarret) @ Jun 4th 2009 9:10PM
I wished you guys had had time to do a daily one. I understand why you didn't though.
The Dark Wayne @ Jun 5th 2009 1:09AM
I do feel good thank you Chris
The Dark Wayne @ Jun 5th 2009 1:20AM
im greatly disappointed there is no hairdresser class in TOR. In all honesty though, the ridiculous amount of classes was one of SWG's only saving graces. Being able to just be a hairdresser, dancer, factory owner, gunsmith, or starship deliveryman, just an everyday guy in the Star Wars universe, that was pretty awesome.
finnith @ Jun 5th 2009 1:45AM
Now I wonder how the storylines for those classes could possibly work. It's be hilarious to start off as a dancer with the outcomes either becoming a famous dancer or viciously killing your master and becoming bounty hunters Twin Suns style.
