These characters look like they belong in Mucha Lucha.

Anyway, I'm really digging this game. I hope it brings just as much or more to the table than LBP did. This will be one of my purchases when I finally buy a PS3. I wouldn't mind playing a ModNation Mini Golf. Think of all the crazy courses people would make! How about a dungeon creator with RPG elements?

I think ModNation Racers was my favorite part of Sony's keynote.

I agree. It was the only part of their press conference that really had me excited at all. I hope the game is awesome when it gets released.

That said, however, it sounds like the developers and Sony are already looking at ways to bleed the name ModNation until it becomes a hollow shell of it's future former self. Awesome...

I dont think Joyride was supposed to be a serious racing game, it was supposed to be a free game that you play when you are bored.
Of course this will be better, 2010 will be the year i get a ps3, god of war 3, modnation, last guardian.

Well JoyRide is going to be free and ModNation is going to cost $60...

Obviously ModNation looks and probably plays MUCH better, but again... it costs money.

I'll be playing both for what its worth.

LittleBigRacer...I wonder if this extreme customizability will be a common feature of major PS3 games in the future. There is certainly a trend forming here.

Sony did say they wanted to create an entire "Play Create Share" genre

ModNation Shooters FPS style would be killer! Create a character, level creator and weapon creator that would be insane.

Something tells me ModNation Platformer wouldn't sell quite as well.

Theres already one, Little Big Planet, no need for another :) Just doesn't have the modnation brand name on it.

But a third person modnation game sounds cool, littlebigkillzone ftw!!! ^^

When they first showed it, I was like, wow this is lame. But then they started showing the course creation and I was like wow! I'll def buy this day one! Can't wait to see more.

Looks very promising, as long as the racing matches the creation side of things it should be a big hit!

Mh ModNation Shooter...

That would be great! Like the original Half Life or Quake!

Now excuse me - I'm off playing The Specialists 3.0!

If this game turns out to be awesome, it will be the second game that will make me want a PS3 (first one is LBP).

I had not considered the possibility of this becoming a ModNation (insert genre) franchise this sounds like excellent news!

MN Racer looks really good though, creating the levels seems amazingly easy to do (far easier than LBP, not saying LBP level creation isnt fun but this looks much easier)

Wow Sony really did have an impressive E3 didnt they!?! Im pleasantly surprised.

Said it once, I'll say it again... every console racing game needs to steal this track editor design immediately. It's the most amazing thing I've seen in a long time.

I think I might like this one more than LBP. I'm not really that big into platformers so I got a little bored with LBP but I'm all over arcade style racers and creating your own track looks SO MUCH EASIER than creating a level in LBP. So count me sold.... But I do hope this comes at a discounted price, maybe 49 or 39 bucks.

When you say you think that Home avatars would be better like this, I hope you mean that in relation to customization. Because in accordance of their shape and size, you may as well just get an Xbox (or maybe even a Wii, although I'm sure everybody already has one) because these more closely resemble its avatars. I think that the more lifelike and real looking avatars that Home has are great, and far superior looking versus any other avatar.

But hey, if you were referring to the customization, then I agree with you completely.

Ah, sorry I misinterpreted that.

And actually, I had suggested using our Home avatars as our PSN avatars in a thread on the PlayStation forums and didn't get great feedback...

You can check my post here, I tried hyperlinking my last post but I suppose Joystiq has an antispam program that disables links.

http(semicolon)//boardsus(dot)playstation(dot)com/playstation/board/message?board(dot)id=ps3updates&view=by_date_ascending&message(dot)id=35994#M35994

Just replace the (semicolon) with a : and the 4 (dot)s with a . each of course, and of course it's safe.

Ahh, a third post. But I have an OCD for typos. That should be "colon", not "semicolon". Although my instructions told you to replace it with the correct punctuation.

I accidentally misinterpreted that as 'National Front' has big plans for ModNation.

For a moment there I was imagining white supremacist karts. Whoops.

Speaking of " how much cooler home would of been with characters like these" I agree. Just think if Sony had used sackboy as the home character. You'd still have a whole of customization that could be done, and it would have made sackboy even more recognizable.

The game looks good, but I don't like the art style, specially the characters... I think if they had come up with "LittleBigRacers" it would be much more attractive, and then you could do things like importing sackboys and sackgirls from LBP...
