What's the point of making a themed version of a game that already features -every- theme?

@bm

That's just the thing, they made a "Drawn to Life: Spongebob".
How can you create a theme-version off of a game in which you can draw anything?

Easy: Give it a storyline and add your characters.

Wow, until today I didn't know anything about this game and now I can't stop thinking about it! I haven't been getting much use out of my DS lately (other than Chinatown Wars) and this is exactly the kind of game I have been waiting for.

I was at E3, and I typed in tmac.

For some reason, it kept on producing a bag of crap...

Wow, after reading the hands-on and this thread, this game has officially picketted (or however you spell it) my interest in it. The devs have made a good work in this game, and I'm going to support them by buying this game once it comes out so they keep doing games as fun as this. Well done 5th Cell.

By the way Griffin, you misspelled the "scribblenauts" tag. ;)

I have to remember to put in Star Wars and see if I get some anti-missile space weaponry. I don't think that's something they'd overlook.

Look up Star Wars. It was a proposed military defense system during the Cold War.

I really want to see if the game has Ymbstocc an obscure english word meaning a Stump containing Bee's

I'd say it's less of an 'obscure' word and more 'not a modern english word'; I doubt they'd use old english in the game. I mean does the DS have a þ key anyhow? :)

wouldn't it be awesome if the devs were capturing all the input made in E3, and adding missing words and getting ideas etc etc?

fantastic stuff - can't wait!

Well, since ymbstocc has no modern noun equivalent, and since I find "A stump containing bees" to be very cumbersome. Its what I would use to describe such a phenomenon.

In fact its one of the only old or middle English nouns I can find þat nis existing in modern English, so þere for I take license to use ymbstocc as I would any oþer modern English noun and þat's why it must be included in Scribblenauts! :)

Well, as shown above with the whole plumbob thing, if it's a word people want
(it probably isn't), it could end up in the game. It would kinda be redundant because i'm sure bees are in the game and stumps are in the game so, yeah.

Also, Penis doesn't work you 12 year olds, grow up. The game has PG words only, infact i'm surprised shotgun made the cut.

So long as there isn't any blood, it really can't get higher than an E10+, even with things like nukes and daggers.

My question is: when you write "blood", does the rating go up to T?

ok, I may be a little late to the party, but did i just see a female commenter up there? Be still, my beating Joystiq. The future is now, video game nerds! Winking smiley faces all around!
p.s. this game looks clever and fun as hell, although the levels seem a bit short. Let's hope they allow us to summon torture devices for Maxwell. I've always wanted to put 5th Level's cute little characters into an iron maiden. Will "water boarding" spawn a surfboard? Only time will tell.

"Plumbob is not a real word -- it's a misspelling of "plumb bob." Does Scribblenauts recognize misspellings?

Some products and websites have adopted the misspelling. But I'd call that a proper noun (i.e., name), rather than a dictionary word.

Off the top of my head, what about (the following words are properly spelled) some harbo, a crwth, a pampero, a superb lyrebird, a finial, and to top it all off a pair of aglets.

Colour me impressed if the game contains half of them.

Joystiq, you should fix your misspelled tag on this article so people wanting to read about Scribblenauts will actually find it.

or maybe just write Starite as an easy way to beat the level ;D
