This. Why more devs don't do this is beyond me. I mean, you're at the show anyway, why not get an early peek at what your competition is doing?

EXACTLY.

... And if you happen to jam one of their controllers buttons after your session, so be it.

I'm sure they do, but someone isn't always there 24/7 to capture a picture o_o

@ jynxcat:

They almost are. This is something pretty common anyways. I mean, pictures were taken of Shigeru Miyamoto checking out the PSP Go. Don't doubt that there weren't Sony and Nintendo people at the Microsoft keynote; I am sure they were.

It's like how game magazines subscribe to each other and such. If you don't check out what the competition is doing, you're a fool :)

@jynxcat

Are you kidding? This is E3. There IS someone 24/7 with a camera to capture EVERYTHING.

So just because their a developer of one game means they can't enjoy someones elses game? They guy prolly just wanted to play some N4S, nothing shady or wrong about that.

I don't think Shift is really competition to Blur. They're different types of games. Maybe if BC was working on another PGR, than yeah. But I really believe Shift is going to bring the NFS series back from the brink and save it. Blur? Well, let's just say I really wish there was another PGR coming....

So some game developers enjoy playing games? This post is pointless.

Talking about racing games was there anything at E3 about Split Second?

That game looked to have some promise but still have yet to see any in game footage.

Yea they had gameplay and let me tell you it looks awesome. It's like Mario Kart meets Big Hollywood driving action movie, graphics are stellar too.

Reminds me of when I was queuing behind a couple of guys from Rare who were playing Soul Calibur 2 at the EA stand at ECTS 2003 (what used to be the European equivalent of E3). At least it was the Xbox version.
